“RHONJ” star Dolores Catania is addressing the rumors that she will appear on Bravo’s new installment of the franchise “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.” In an interview with E! News, Catania hinted that she might in fact be seen on the show in some capacity, saying simply, “Stay tuned.”
Catania did elaborate a bit on her connections to the ladies of Rhode Island, revealing, “I know some of the girls and you are in for a treat.”
She went on to explain why she has an affinity for the small state. ”You think we’re Italian? They paint the streets with the Italian flag in Rhode Island,” the “Traitors” season 3 winner shared. “They’re feisty.”
Catania Misses Filming ‘RHONJ’
Catania has been a full-time cast member on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” since the show’s 7th season which premiered in July of 2016. But for now, the show’s future remains uncertain.
“RHONJ” has been on pause since last summer following its 14th season and it’s unclear if and when it will return. Amid the hiatus, Catania admitted that she’s really been missing the show. “I miss everything about filming,” she shared. “I miss the good times and the bad times.”
She continued, “It’s a relationship I’ve been doing for over eight years now and you miss the people that you saw so often. It’s like a bad breakup.”
But Catania continues to stay in touch with her “RHONJ” castmates even though they are not currently filming. “I spoke to almost everyone today,” she said. “I keep in touch with all of them: Jen Fessler, Margaret Josephs, Melissa [Gorga], Teresa [Giudice], Danielle Cabral.
She added, “The Jersey girls are tied. I really hope we come back.”
Catania Is Loving the Support From Fans
Whether or not Catania ends up appearing on “RHORI,” she is super happy that the fans seem to want to see more of her. “I’ve gotten so much support over the years and I can’t thank everybody enough for that,” she shared, adding, “It means the world to me.”
She also expressed wanting to show her fans just how much they are appreciated, perhaps in the form of a giant slumber party. “Like, I want to bring everyone over the house,” Catania said. “I don’t care if it’s a million people, I want everyone to sleep over and stay.”
As for whether she thinks “RHORI” could replace “RHONJ” in the hearts of fans, Catania says no. “New Jersey’s in a league of its own,” she said. “So, I think that it won’t, only because you’ve made relationships with us.”
