Dominik Badinka Signs Three-Year ELC with Carolina Hurricanes - Carolina Hurricanes News, Analysis and More

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed 2024 second-round pick Dominik Badinka to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Badinka, 18, will make $775,000 at the NHL level and $85,000 at the AHL level for all three seasons and the deal includes $282,150 worth of signing bonuses.

“Dominik is a puck-moving defenseman with good length and mobility,” said Hurricanes assistant general manager Darren Yorke. “He played very well as an 18-year-old against tough competition in Sweden last season, and we’re excited for him to take the next steps in his development.”

The Czech blueliner played last season in the SHL where he had a goal and four points in 33 games playing steady minutes with the Malmo Redhawks.

The 6-foot-3 defender is a smooth skater who defends well and has some real potential offensive upside.
