DWTS Alum Engaged After Italian Vacation Proposal

A former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant is now an engaged man. Big Time Rush singer James Maslow, who competed on season 18 of DWTS with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, is engaged to Caitlin Spears.

According to Us Weekly, the proposal took place on May 8.

Maslow explained, “I wanted this moment to be 100 percent about Caitlin, so I booked a trip to the Amalfi Coast for just us, told (almost) nobody, and enlisted the help of a random hotel and a few other Italian strangers to pull off a pretty amazing and romantic moment, if I do say so myself.”

On May 14, Maslow shared photos from the proposal on his Instagram page. He wrote, “Forever sounds good with you. ❤️💍🥂”

While at the Hotel Cetus in Cetara, Italy, Maslow got down on bended knee and asked Spears to marry him. She said yes.

Maslow told Us Weekly, “The rest of the vacation has finally felt like a vacation for me now too.”

Spears said the proposal was “truly a breathtaking moment and one of the most magical moments of my life.”

She was “so shocked” that Maslow managed to surprise her with the proposal.

Maslow and Spears first went “Instagram Official” with their romance in July 2019. After she posted a selfie of the two of them together and wished him a happy birthday via her Instagram page, they started sharing more.

The Big Time Rush singer first shared Spears on his Instagram page in September 2019.

After announcing their engagement on Instagram, fans flooded them with congratulatory notes.
