Plotting A Takeover

A family feud is off with a bang: EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) has been shot. That leaves the DiMera clan and their business, DiMera Enterprises, ripe for the picking.

Xander (Paul Telfer), who masterminded the takeover, is ready to pounce on them.

“Kristen’s one crisis away from a straight jacket,” he announces, not knowing that at that very moment, JJ (Casey Moss) is pulling a gun out of Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) purse. Could it be the gun that shot EJ?

Family Reunions and Confrontations

Alison Sweeney is back as Sami Brady. She arrives at the hospital where her ex-husband, EJ, lies in a medically-induced coma to find her sister, Belle (Martha Madison), sitting at his bedside. “It’s you, Belle, sister dearest,” she greets her snidely.

Across town, Kate (Lauren Koslow) gets a surprise visitor. It’s her son, Rex (Kyle Lowder). “Hi,” he says when she opens the door. Kate, who’s overjoyed to see him, reaches out and pulls him into a warm embrace.

Not-So-Happy Surprise

However, another person’s arrival back in Salem doesn’t sit as well with Kate. Hint: It’s her longtime arch-nemesis. While at the Kiriakis mansion, having a heart-to-heart, Kate and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) are rudely interrupted by Vivian (Louise Sorel). “Oh wait,” she purrs. “You can’t start a celebration without moi.”

“Vivian,” gasps Kate. “You came here to say goodbye to me,” assumes Philip.

Wrong. Vivian has an old, familiar agenda. She’s there “to get what’s mine,” she announces. Some things never change.
