Flyers Rіsіng Stаr Off To Mаgnіfісent Stаrt

This Philadelphia Flyers defender got his season off on the right foot against the Vancouver Canucks.

Cam York

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Cam York is one of the club's many young players who has the potential to hit a new level in 2024-25. The 2019 first-round pick is coming off a solid 2023-23 season, recording career highs with 10 goals, 20 assists, and 30 points. Now, his goal is to hit a new level this campaign.

York started his season off on the right foot against the Vancouver Canuks last night (Oct. 11), scoring the game-tying goal that forced overtime. This helped the Flyers greatly, as they later secured the victory in the shootout.

York's goal was a beauty, too, as he sniped a wrist shot past Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen. However, it initially looked like it did not go in because it hit the post and then quickly hit the middle bar. Thus, the Flyers and Canucks continued play for 10 seconds before the alarm went off to notify York's shot went in.

With York looking to take a big step forward, starting his season with an outstanding goal like this is undoubtedly a good sign. It will be fun to see what he does from here.
