This Philadelphia Flyers forward is continuing to create chatter as a potential trade candidate.

Joel Farabee

At the start of the 2024 NHL Offseason, Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee created a good amount of chatter as a trade candidate. However, as we now inch closer to the start of training camp, the 6-foot winger remains a Flyer - at least for now.

With the Flyers having wingers like Travis Konecny, Matvei Michkov, Tyson Foerster, and Owen Tippett all projected to have top-six roles, it could make sense for them to part ways with Farabee for the right price. Because of this, questions about the 2018 first-round pick's future in Philadelphia won't go away.

For example, in Lyle Richardson's most recent NHL Trade Block Big Board for Bleacher Report, he listed Farabee at the No. 4 spot.

Richardson also mentioned the Buffalo Sabres as a potential suitor for Farabee. This is understandable, as they have yet to find the true top-six winger they have been searching for all season.

However, considering that Farabee is a solid point producer and only 24 years old, many other teams would very likely express interest in him if the Flyers made him available. Furthermore, just this past season, the Syracuse, New York native posted new career highs with 22 goals, 28 assists, and 50 points in 82 games.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Flyers move Farabee this season. There are clear reasons for them to keep him around, but he could be a valuable trade chip to strengthen their roster elsewhere.
