According to reports, a residence in Haddonfield, New Jersey, believed to belong to Philadelphia Flyers star winger Travis Konecny, based on Haddonfield tax records, suffered a devastating fire on Tuesday night.
The blaze was extinguished roughly one hour after Haddon Fire Co. was called to the home on Jobel Drive. The first and second floors were heavily damaged in the fire, with smoke ravaging all three floors of the home. Fortunately, Konecny, his wife Karly, and his two children were not present at the time of the fire.
Additionally, two firefighters suffered minor burns whilst fighting the fire but did not require further treatment. Whether or not the house is a lost cause is currently unclear.
No cause for the fire has been disclosed at the time of this writing and is currently under investigation.
Konecny, 27, signed the largest contract in Philadelphia Flyers history on July 25, putting pen to paper on an eight-year, $70 million deal ($8.75 million AAV) that will make him the highest-paid Flyers player as of the 2025-26 season, surpassing current Flyers captain Sean Couturier.
Konecny and his Flyers teammates are expected to report for the start of training camp early next month. This story will be updated as the investigation into the fire continues.
