Former Eagles teammates set to reunite for epic showdown at the Linc

Philadelphia Eagles fans will always remember how former quarterback Michael Vick connected with former wide receiver DeSean Jackson so many times on deep passes.

From the opening play on the Monday Night Massacre against Washington to their 91-yard touchdown connection in the fourth quarter of their 2010 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, the Vick-Jackson connection was truly special. Vick's strong arm and Jackson's electric made them the perfect pairing.

This once dominate QB-WR duo will reunite once more in a different capacity at Lincoln Financial Field in the fall.

Former Eagles battling it out at the college level

On October 30, the Delaware State Hornets will face the Norfolk State Spartans in a battle of two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The rivalry has a different edge to it as Jackson is in his first year as Delaware State's head coach while Vick is the new head coach at Norfolk State.

Via CBS Sports, Eagles Chief Operating Officer Frank Gumienny shared his and the franchise's excitement to host the game with two former team legends as coaches.

Vick played five seasons for the Eagles with his best being in 2010 after taking over for the injured Kevin Kolb and going 8-3 as the starter, made the Pro Bowl, and was named Comeback Player of the Year. He finished with 9,984 yards and 57 touchdowns to 33 interceptions.

Jackson played a combined eight years in Philadelphia after the team selected him in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. All three of his Pro Bowl selections were with the Eagles as he finished his NFL career with 11,263 yards and 58 touchdowns in 15 NFL seasons.

It'll be a special moment in Philadelphia to see two men who matured as people in the city return to show what they have accomplished since their playing days. Vick and Jackson are well deserving of taking leadership roles and leading the next generation of men.

Expect a big crowd with not only the schools' fans, but plenty of Eagles fans wearing old school Vick and Jackson jerseys.
