This former Philadelphia Flyers defender has reached a massive career milestone.
Former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn will play in his 1,000th career NHL game tonight (Oct. 17) when the Nashville Predators take on the Edmonton Oilers.
Schenn, 34, is currently in his 17th NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected the right-shot defenseman with the fifth-overall pick, and he has since put together an incredibly lengthy career, as evidenced by him reaching the 1,000-game mark.
Schenn spent four seasons of his long NHL career with the Flyers from 2012-13 to 2015-16. In 213 games as a Flyer, Schenn had 12 goals, 42 points, 712 hits, and a minus-6 rating.
Besides playing for the Flyers, Schenn has also had stints with the Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks, and Predators. Needless to say, he is a journeyman, but that has not stopped the former Flyer from hitting this major accomplishment.
