Former Husker wide receiver Isaiah Neyor waived by 49ers

A flurry of signings and roster moves by the San Francisco 49ers left former Nebraska wide receiver Isaiah Neyor without a roster spot on Monday, as the team released Neyor.

Neyor signed with the 49ers after going undrafted this spring. He caught early attention for a highlight reel catch where he pulled a ball down over several defenders. The 49ers recently added several veteran wide receivers to their roster and Neyor was the odd-man out.

Neyor spent one season at Nebraska, catching 34 passes for 455 yards and five touchdowns. That followed stops at Texas and Wyoming, where he had his best season for the Cowboys as a sophomore when he caught 44 passes for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns.

If Neyor clears waivers he will be free to sign with other clubs. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Neyor should be intriguing to other clubs. He ran a 4.4 in the 40 at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, adding a 38-inch vertical and 11-foot broad jump.
