Frank Seravalli Reveals the ‘Best Fit' for Mitch Marner in Free Agency

Mitch Marner appears set to leave the Toronto Maple Leafs in free agency, and now it's been revealed that he could be headed to the Vegas Golden Knights.

2025 NHL free agency is upon us, and while the class isn't as loaded as one's we've seen in recent years, with Maple Leafs superstar Mitch Marner leading the way, there's going to be plenty of big deals handed out.

At this point in time, all signs are pointing to Marner departing his long-time home of Toronto, and if he does, we already know from reports that he's likely to depart Canada entirely, opting to join an American franchise instead.

The list of teams interested in Marner is reportedly very long, but according to Frank Seravalli, one team is emerging as a favourite to land No. 16, and it's not a surprise which team that would be.

According to Seravalli, the Vegas Golden Knights present the best fit for Marner as they look to replicate the success they had with Jonathan Marchessault up front, and after a career year of 102 points in the regular season, Marner would definitely be a great fit in Vegas.

On top of that, he'd join a Golden Knights team that has made two Stanley Cup Finals since entering the league in 2017 and has been a consistent Stanley Cup Playoffs threat, and after the criticism that Marner has received over his performances in the big moments, joining an established team like this could be a good move.

It's unclear exactly how Vegas could fit him into their salary cap situation, but with the likes of Florida, St. Louis and Pittsburgh among others all showing interest, if Vegas really want to land Marner, they'll make it work.
