General Hospital (GH) spoilers imply that it may be four years since fans have seen Jasper “Jax” Jacks, played by Ingo Rademacher, but he was once an integral part of Port Charles and its storylines.
He will always be remembered for his romances with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil), and who could forget his villainous brother, Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche)?
Jax also happens to be Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) father, and with all that she’s been going through as of late, it’s odd that she hasn’t mentioned her dad.
In fact, there have been times when Jax has been off-screen, but still mentioned in storylines, so why does it feel as if he’s been erased from the show’s history?
The Social Media Outcry
Fans have noticed that Josslyn hasn’t been talking to or about her dad, Jax, as of late. In the past, Joss would even go and visit her father from time to time, but he’d always be mentioned to some degree.
Many have wondered why his name hasn’t dropped at all; some have wondered why the show hasn’t opted to “kill” him off if they refuse to acknowledge him.
It is more than odd that Jax hasn’t been talked about, considering his link to Josslyn and his history with the show.
After all, plenty of characters have exited the little town, but are still brought up, now and again, especially if the storyline dictates it.
Ingo Rademacher’s History
GH viewers may recall that Jax’s portrayer, Ingo Rademacher, was fired from the show in 2021 when he did not comply with the COVID-19 vaccine policy that ABC had added during the pandemic.
He, along with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) were let go, although Burton was brought back in early 2024 when the COVID vaccination mandate was dropped. Rademacher later launched a lawsuit against the soap and the network.
With that said, this doesn’t mean that Jax couldn’t be mentioned once in a while, right? The character should be separated from the actor.
Perhaps, if Rademacher couldn’t come back, there’s always an opportunity for the show to recast the role, too.
