In Jack's hotel room, Carly enjoyed a bottle of champagne with Jack while Valentin lurked in the hallway. After kissing, Jack saw that the label on the bottle had been replaced and slapped the glass out of her hand. It was too late because she passed out.
Valentin heard what happened through the door and seemed satisfied, so he left the hotel quickly. Jack called 911 and told them Carly had ingested an unknown poison. Isaiah was the doctor on call when Jack brought Carly in to General Hospital. Jack then called the WSB to send agents there to examine the poison.
When they arrived, Jack gave them instructions: he told one to analyze the poison in the bottle and check the security footage at the hotel to see who delivered it, and the other agent he told to protect Carly. Jack exerted his WSB authority to control the situation and wouldn't let the staff call Sonny or anybody on Carly’s behalf because he said it was a matter of national security. Isaiah told Willow they needed to find out what poison Carly ingested right away. Anna showed up and Jack filled her in on what happened.
Soon after, his agents called him And told him that Carly had been poisoned by polonium.
At Sonny’s, Jason explained that Valentin was the one who sent Rocco the text message so he could send Charlotte home. He then explained about the WSB kill squad that he and Anna fought off to protect Valentin and Charlotte. Sonny was glad that Charlotte came home so the whole family could start to heal.
Sonny then explained that Brick didn't have any information on who could have planted the bomb in his apartment. But Jason felt since nobody was perfect, they would eventually find evidence somehow. Sonny said they wouldn't feel secure until they found out who was responsible and took them out.
Sonny then told Jason that Carly spoke to Michael on the phone and he was doing well, but whoever hurt him was going to pay. Sonny wondered why a smart man like Sidwell would go after his family. They put Sidwell aside for the moment and tried to figure out who else would want to go after Sonny.
After talking about it, they concluded that either somebody bought that bomb from the intelligence community or somebody in the intelligence community wanted to take Sonny out. Sonny told Jason to make sure he took good care of Sasha because someone was coming after them and she could be in danger because of her connection to Jason.
Later, a black hooded figure entered Sonny's house and took a small briefcase from a hidden spot in the fireplace. He opened it, and there were several passports with Valentin and Charlotte’s pictures in them, but their names were Will Cortlandt and Melanie Cortlandt. (James Patrick Stuart played Will on All My Children. His sister was Melanie.) Sonny soon appeared with a gun to find that the hooded man was Valentin.
At the Quartermaines, Tracy was relieved when Gio told her there weren’t any government officials or bulldozers at the house. Brook Lynn asked Tracy what she was doing. Tracy said she felt that things had gotten out of control since being arrested. Chase reminded her that she had been in a physical altercation with a government employee.
Tracy soon left, so Sasha, Gio, Brook Lynn, and Chase all had a conversation about her. Sasha was concerned about Tracy's well-being because money didn't matter where the land dispute was concerned; she went down to the crypt three times a week to visit her family members.
Brook Lynn said Tracy felt close to her parents and brother there and Sasha said Tracy always put fresh flowers in the crypt, meaning the place really mattered to her. Chase explained that Drew was making a big deal over a matter of a few feet just to hurt his family. Brook Lynn said, “Love her or hate her, Drew has picked a fight with the wrong broad.” Gio noted that Tracy could take anybody on any corner of Bensonhurst.
Sasha and Gio talked about how Tracy had a unique way of showing people she loved them, and even though they were outsiders, they felt like they were part of something really special. When Jason later came home, Sasha told him they needed to talk about the baby.
Meanwhile, Brook Lynn told Chase how Lois had told Gloria about her pregnancy all those years ago. Brook Lynn lamented all the back-and-forth secrets that arose from her pregnancy and realized by not telling Chase the full story, she was holding things back from him just like her family held things back from her. Ultimately, she told Chase that Dante was her baby's father. Chase looked stunned.
At Laura’s, Martin told his sister they should focus on the positive because things were looking up for their family. He said he was hoping that because Valentin was still in the wind, Lulu would get past his business relationship with the Cassadines.
Anna showed up at Laura's door with US Marshall Thompson who had an arrest warrant for Martin. The attorney looked shocked when he heard the news. Anna explained that one of Martin's ex-wives filed charges because he was in arrears with alimony payments, but the warrant didn't specify which wife.
Martin was shocked he was being extradited to California for something like that. Soon, Tracy showed up and Martin accused her of being behind the arrest. With a grin, she admitted she was. She clearly delighted in his pain. When asked how she knew to make a phone call looking into Martin's finances, Tracy explained she heard Lucy talking about the windfall that Martin got from selling Valentin's house, and figured he would want to hide that money from his ex-wives. He admitted he hadn't declared it as income yet.
He referred to his ex-wife, who he suspected was behind it, as being meaner than Blair Cramer. “If I go to California this will put me on the rack and make microwave popcorn,” Marty said. Laura asked what they needed to do to make it go away. Tracy said it was one of the consequences of him uprooting her family from their resting places on behalf of Drew.
Laura countered that it was Drew who made everything part of the public record. She asked how Tracy could hold Martin accountable when she knew full well that Drew was the one behind everything. Martin then put his foot in his mouth, so Tracy told the US Marshall to do his job and arrest Martin.
Trina sullenly held the dove that Spencer had given her when Kai came to the door. He talked to her through it and told her he understood her need to be alone. When she was ready to not be alone, he would be there for her. Eventually, Trina opened the door and said she didn't want to be alone after all.
She told Kai about how Spencer died last year and she didn't feel like celebrating her birthday right after. This birthday surprise was better than last year's but Emma's gift was the same book Spencer had given her so everything came crashing back to her. She felt the grief was behind her but every once in a while it would sneak back up. She let Kai see the book and he read the inscription.
She told him all about Spencer and the debacle with Esme who ended up sleeping with Nikolas. “Wow!” he said, adding, “That is a long-haul revenge play.” She told him that when she and Spencer traveled to Paris so she could study at the Sorbonne, Esme had found them and caused Spencer's death.
Kai later used an art analogy to tell Trina that he thought she was bold and striking. Before he left he gave her a gift, which was a framed photo of them and the murals they had made at the art museum.
