'General Hospital' Recap Wednesday, July 16: Drew's Blackmail Escalates & Jason Tells Danny About Sasha

General Hospital recaps for Wednesday, July 16 reveal Stella Henry’s (Vernée Watson) stonewalled, Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) blackmailed, and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) says a sad goodbye.

Also, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) talks about his renovation project and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) says goodbye to Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson).

Jason Updates Danny On His Trip Out Of Town With Sasha And Daisy

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) makes his way to the Metro Court Pool. He spots his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and informs him that he’s taking Sasha and Daisy Gilmore (Levi Clark Coughlin) out of the country.Danny inquires if this is due to the confusion surrounding the baby, and Jason clarifies that Daisy was intentionally moved. Danny feels relieved that his father will ensure their safety.

Jason mentions he will be away for a few days. Danny has started to see the baby as a little sister and was pleased to assist with her; he also has a strong fondness for Sasha.

 

Stella Stonewalled

Aunt Stella discovers Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) in his office, and she has a problem with him; why is he using his media company to provoke a cobra?

She reminds him that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is the owner of Aurora and is the one who signs his checks- Curtis refers to it as business, and stonewalls her.

 

Michael understands as well; Stella is aware that he gave a boost to “that worm” Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) with the Measure C situation.

He despises the thought that it could impact Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) campaign. Stella hopes he is aware of what he’s doing, and offers to lend an ear if he needs someone to talk to.

Kai Thanks Portia, Drew Comforts Willow

Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) visits the hospital to express his gratitude to Portia for her unwavering support, and wishes he hadn’t caused her any distress.

 

She questions whether he would have betrayed her and Curtis once more; Kai stands firm in his decision, which frustrates Portia-she cannot accept his actions towards Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). He broke a promise made to her daughter, stealing her joy, and Portia cannot find it in her heart to forgive him.

Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) would never act in such a way towards him; nearby, Drew attempts to calm Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) anxieties about Michael potentially taking the children away for good.

He reassures her that they will outsmart him; they plan to portray him as incompetent, weak, and a threat to his own family-they share a warm embrace.

Drew Blackmails Portia

Drew discovers Kai in Portia’s office-once he departs, Drew shuts the door and confronts the doctor-Portia clarifies that it was about him manipulating the child and jeopardizing his relationship with Trina.

Drew merely shrugs-she’s the one lying, and he requests assistance in bringing down Michael Corinthos. She tells him to leave, and he insists that she should make it appear as though Michael is struggling with opioid addiction-it must be credible in court.

Portia realizes this is about taking the children from him, and she refuses to participate; Drew shrugs again-if she doesn’t comply, she’ll lose her entire family. After he exits, she breaks down in tears and shatters her degree, letting out a primal scream.

Isaiah Talks About His Renovation Project

Willow discovers Gannon in the nurses’ room, on a call and grabbing coffee; he appears taken aback by the high cost of a new septic system and rain gutters.

She listens in as he agrees to the price, his eyes wide with surprise-Willow inquires if he has purchased a property. He reveals that Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) gifted him his cabin, which he describes as a money pit; nevertheless, he refuses to sell it.

He is renovating it, aiming to create a getaway, and hopes to pass it down to his children, just as Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) did for Lucky; Willow appreciates this sentiment.

Gannon expresses regret if his words seemed callous-Willow shares that she and Drew are marrying at the end of July-Nina is organizing a grand wedding, but she wishes her children could attend.

 

Nina Says Goodbye To Sasha

At the Q manse, Nina is taken aback by Sasha’s decision to leave PC-Sasha explains that it’s not safe for Daisy, despite Sonny’s offer of protection.

Nina praises his security teams as exceptional-however, Sasha is unwilling to live under those circumstances and doesn’t want to take any chances.

Nina believes she’s making the right choice but feels sorrowful about the distance; as they bid farewell, Sasha’s voice trembles-Nina regards her as a daughter. Sasha will miss her dearly and hopes that Willow realizes how fortunate she is to have such a wonderful mom-they promise to video chat, and Nina offers financial help.

She feels responsible since she revealed Daisy’s paternity to Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) during the custody hearing; she apologizes, and Sasha understands, acknowledging that the truth would have eventually surfaced.

Michael Gives Tracy The Bad News

In the living room, Michael shares the news with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot); he doesn’t want her to leave but can’t think of another option except one.

He has full custody of his children and wonders if he should take them and leave with Sasha; Tracy says he won’t do that to Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). Michael is in turmoil-how can he let go, what if he never sees his youngest child again?

After Michael leaves, Jason arrives, and Tracy informs him that Michael continues to suffer because he is Sonny’s son-Jason is aware of this.

She fears that Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) will be the next to pay for Sonny’s mistakes; he needs to be removed from PC-Jason believes Gio should decide for himself regarding Sonny.

Danny Says Goodbye To Daisy And Sasha And Michael Says A Sad Goodbye

Outside, Danny bids farewell to Sasha and Daisy-he will miss them, and they reflect on how he had a special connection with the baby.

 

Sasha refers to him as an amazing surrogate brother, and he cradles the baby and tears up, promising her that he will always be her big brother who cares for her.

After he departs, Michael comes back, he offers to take Daisy while she gets ready; Michael holds his child and struggles to say goodbye.

He expresses to his daughter how much he will miss her and that he will keep her in his heart until they meet again. He kisses her forehead and tells her he loves her as Sasha comes back and observes the moment.

 

Nina Makes An Offer To Curtis

Nina visits Curtis at Aurora’s office, offering her assistance in confronting Sonny-he is taken aback, she believes she can add credibility to the narrative and cast him in a negative light.

Curtis is hesitant; he understands her feelings for him, “This isn’t you,” he remarks-he suspects that Drew has influenced her. He is aware of the situation with Jacinda (Paige Herschell)-Nina expresses her regret and holds herself accountable for Portia’s decision.

Curtis doubts her claim but recognizes that Drew is to blame-they must find a way to neutralize him. Curtis reflects that at times, they may have to betray a friend.

Kai Updates Stella, Drew Lays Out His Plan To Willow

At the hospital again, Kai discovers Stella and informs her about his breakup with Trina-Stella understands that he chose to uphold his principles.

 

She can relate, having faced similar struggles herself; for her, standing by what is right was always worth the effort. She questions whether this was the case for him too.

Meanwhile, Drew locates his fiancée at the nurses’ station. He believes she will have custody of her children returned to her before the wedding, adding that Michael will have to face the consequences for this-it’s going to hurt, and deeply.
