General Hospital recaps for Wednesday, July 2 reveal Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) threatens to drop out, and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) admits her true motivations as a WSB agent.
Also, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) frames Selina Wu (Lydia Look) for the Charlie’s Pub arson and forces her to leave town.
Gio Threatens To Drop Out
Gio meets Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) at the coffee shop and expresses his frustration that the dog they found at the baseball game keeps taking his shoes.
She questions whether he’s directing his anger at Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) towards the dog, which she has named “Outback”. He confesses that he is indeed upset about it but struggles to express his feelings, and apologizes for being a downer.
She reassures him that he’s just the right amount of downer-he reveals that he has decided to leave PCU. He has no plans to play the violin again and is currently there on a music scholarship.
Emma Encourages Gio Not To Make A Quick Decision
She recommends that he wait for the dust to settle, but he says all his fond memories of music are now spoiled; without the love for it, the music feels empty.
It’s yet another thing his family has taken from him. She proposes to assist him in discovering what else he cares about… such as stopping Professor Henry Dalton, (Daniel Goddard).
She is shocked that someone would conduct experiments on adorable dogs like Outback; Emma mentions they might need to take extreme measures. He assumes that implies something illegal but is willing to do anything for a worthy cause.
Josslyn Makes An Admission
Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) finds Joss outside Charlie’s while the fire department is cleaning up; she confesses that she can’t pull herself away from the scene.
She feels uneasy that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) almost lost her life simply because she is Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) daughter.
They discuss Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) dying and Michael being burned-Vaughn suspects she’s not fond of her former stepfather.
She has tried to move past her anger, but she feels no sympathy for him, admitting it’s a reason she wanted to join the WSB-she aims to take him down.
She worries that admitting this might get her fired, but he reassures her that it’s the opposite; once he knows her better, he’ll explain why he joined; they share a kiss.
Sidwell Frames Selina For The Charlie’s Pub Arson
Sidwell summons Selina to Wyndemere and tells her she is about to go to war with Sonny-she insists she works hard to keep on Sonny’s good side.
He claims he knows for sure that two of her associates set fire to Charlie’s; the fire will be linked back to her. She suspects he has set her up and threatens to reveal the truth to Sonny.
He doubts Sonny will allow her to live long enough for that and mentions he has planted more evidence of her involvement.
Sidwell Forces Selina To Leave Town Awhile
Sidwell’s obviously backed Selina into a corner, or she wouldn’t give in this easily-she thought that he wanted to discuss reinvigorating the high stakes poker game she ran.
Sidwell tells her unless she wants a war with Sonny, the best option for her is to leave town for a while. He tells her she can return with his approval once Port Charles has changed significantly.
This means Sonny will be out of the picture, and she seems to agree readily. She departs to catch a flight, and he wishes her a safe journey.
Alexis And Molly Visit Kristina In The Hospital
Kristina is eager to leave her hospital bed, but her mother won’t let her-she shares what happened before the fire and mentions the smell of gas.
The fire extinguisher didn’t do enough, and Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) saved her life; Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) expresses that she would have harmed her father if she had died. Kristina points out that they can’t be sure if it’s her dad’s fault, and Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) arrives, and Alexis steps out to handle paperwork.
The sisters discuss how Marco saved her, and Molly admires that Kristina didn’t argue with their mom about Sonny that night. Kristina states that even if she had been collateral damage, she wouldn’t hold her dad responsible.
The Sisters Talk About Their Mother’s Fear, And Missing Sam McCall
She realizes their mom is scared, it not being that long since their oldest sister was killed by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). At that point, Alexis returns to the hospital room, pleased to see them together.
They all wish Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) was present; Alexis reminds them that they must outlive her.
This is the first time Alexis has had to visit a daughter in the hospital since Sam died of digitalis poisoning after successfully donating part of her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins). No wonder she’s having a bit of PTSD and worried about Kristina.
Marco Weeps For His Mother
Marco is by Natalia Ramirez’s (Eva LaRue) body, holding her hand and crying; he realizes they had issues, but he never wanted it to end this way.
cas Jones (Van Hansis) waits at the Nurses’ Station, unsure of what to do- Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) advises him to let Marco spend some time alone with his mother.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) arrives, and Marco steps outside-then Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) tells him they couldn’t revive Natalia’s heart when she arrived. It appears to be an overdose. They won’t know anything until the autopsy is done.
Marco Talks About Saving Kristina From The Fire
Marco informs them that he was driving by Charlie’s when he noticed it was ablaze; Anna tells him he’s a hero for rescuing Kristina.
Marco replies that he couldn’t save his mother; he explains he was heading to see her after receiving some drunken texts-Lucas reassures him that this isn’t his fault.
Anna clarifies that the A.D.A. Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) sent her to collect his mom after she was seen conversing with Sonny and appearing “troubled.”
Marco quickly suggests that his mom was murdered by Corinthos because she had incriminating evidence against him. Lucas encourages him to take a moment , and Anna expresses her condolences and departs with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).
Sidwell Arrives At The Hospital After Lucas’ Call
Marco expresses gratitude to Lucas for intervening, and suggests that Gannon should examine Marco while he reaches out to Sidwell on his behalf.
He dials Sidwell to inform him about Natalia’s passing and that Marco is currently at the hospital- Sidwell hurries to see his son.
Marco is unsure how to break the news to his sister; he wishes circumstances were different-his father reassures him that he couldn’t have foreseen this.
Marco recounts the fire incident and how he saved Kristina; his father begins to tremble-Marco reveals that Sonny is to blame for Natalia’s death.
Meanwhile, Lucas and Liz step away to discuss the possibility of Natalia being murdered; Lucas comments this resembles a mob conflict, with his family on one side and Marco’s on the other.
Sonny Blames Sidwell For The Fire, And Anna Has To Bring Sonny In
At home, Sonny informs Jason that they are aware Sidwell was responsible for the fire, and he believes Michael’s assault in his penthouse bombing was also due to Sidwell.
If anything were to happen to Kristina, he can’t imagine what he would do- Kristina is the child who resembles him the most.
Jason mentions they have someone monitoring her room, and Sonny is resolved to quickly identify the culprit-he is intent on inflicting such pain that they will never consider targeting them again.
Jason reminds him that this could involve attacking Marco, who just rescued Kristina; “So be it,” Sonny replies, calling Marco collateral damage; Anna arrives and reveals that Natalia has died.
He questions why she is delivering this news in person-she clarifies that one of his bodyguards entered her room and fled when the police arrived-he is now a person of interest.
Brook Lynn And Tracy Discuss Financial Irregularities In The Deception Cosmetics Account
At the Quartermaine’s, Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton) informs Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) that Deception could be in serious jeopardy and it might be too late to remedy the situation.
She mentions that some of Sonny’s investments seemed questionable—this doesn’t surprise Tracy, but Brook Lynn insists it was just a clerical mistake-her grandmother reminds her that it’s also a crime.
If this information leaks, Deception will be finished—Brook Lynn states they need to hide this as deeply as possible; Tracy suggests they should turn it to their advantage.
She believes they ought to be honest with the DA and assist in the case against Sonny—she’s afraid if she separates Sonny from Gio, her son will resent her even more.
Tracy offers to handle everything on her own—Chase arrives, informing them about the fire at Charlie’s and Natalia’s death.
