General Hospital’s Ric and Liz Fell Victim to Kristina’s Revenge, Drew Crossed the Point of No Return — and Is *This* Who Wants Sonny Dead?!?

Kristina possibly kills Liz and Ric GH

Fans had to say goodbye to Valentin on General Hospital this week, but we hope we will see him again at some point. Sonny and Jason are getting closer to finding out who has it out for the Teflon don. And Kristina remains her own worst enemy! Let’s dive into all the drama that happened in Port Charles.

Kristina’s Epic Mistake

In what felt like an ode to Tracy taunting Edward over his heart pills when he faked a heart attack to test her loyalty, Ava stood over Sonny in a similar position of power, but the mobster wasn’t faking his heart condition. Kristina, fortunately, found her father in time and vowed to stop Ava once and for all. So, what was Kristina’s brilliant plan? To cut the brakes on Ava’s car! Only she actually cut the brakes on Ric’s car, which was parked in Ava’s spot in the garage…

Of course, Ric offered Elizabeth a ride home when his brakes went out, leaving us waiting until Monday to find out how serious their injuries will be. Boy, Kristina’s obsession with Ava has her in a bind this time! She’s put her friend and bartender’s girlfriend and her sister’s father’s lives on the line. This just after she and Molly made up. I guess she’ll have to get Diane, or maybe Marco when he gets to Port Charles, to defend her if it comes to it. Because Alexis sure as hell can’t this time, given Molly has been wronged yet again by her sister.

There’s no shortage of fans who would love to see Kristina go to Pentonville or perhaps Ferncliff. My guess is that Ava will use this to gain full custody of Avery or at least get the money from Sonny she needs to pay off her debts. As I noted in last week’s column, watching Ava struggle financially is no fun. Also, given how obsessed Kristina is with Ava, surely she would know what type of car she drives and wouldn’t make the mistake she did!

The Person Who Wants Sonny Dead Is…

Brick was back this week with a lead on the location of the hitman Solinski, who was hired to take out Sonny. Jason and Sonny, who shouldn’t be traveling with his heart condition but wouldn’t take no for an answer, headed to Toronto and found the guy by the end of Friday’s episode. And though he hasn’t coughed up a name just yet, I have a theory about who hired him. Morgan!

Morgan’s name has been thrown around a lot lately. Sonny brought it up in his fight with Ava. Joss was asked about her half brother’s death during her lie detector test at WSB camp. Plus, Kristina has brought him up several times in her rants about what Ava’s gotten away with. Also, before Sonny and Jason headed off to Toronto, Sonny vowed to find out who was responsible for putting Michael through the pain he is living with, and the camera panned to a photo of Morgan and Michael. That scene had to mean something.

There is also the fact that Morgan died in a fiery bomb explosion, and that’s how Sonny was supposed to go out… The only problem is that Solinski acted like whoever hired him was extremely dangerous and would take him out if he gave them up. Perhaps Morgan now has his own Mob empire? The writers did drop the ball on the storyline of the supposed up-and-coming Mafia boss on the West Coast who was said to be a potential threat to Sonny.

Other Storyline Ponderings

I’m really sad to see Valentin leave for Stienmauer. He and Anna had so much potential before the writers, for whatever reason, tanked their storyline by sending him back down a dark path. However, his final words to Anna, Charlotte and Lulu, “Till next time,” give me hope that there is a way in the future to bring him back.

Valentin Charlotte goodbye GH

Drew teaming up with Ezra to bulldoze the Quartermaine crypt was just pure evil. There is no coming back from this for Drew’s character. I was at least glad to see Gio point out that disrupting the graves was a public health and safety issue. I’ve already pointed out before that the destruction or disruption of graves is, in fact, illegal, and there is no way the courts would allow a crypt containing bodies to be demolished by a bulldozer. On top of that, Ezra and Drew have to know this is political suicide. Then again, it seems politicians are getting away with a lot these days.

Ezra Warns the kids GH

What in the hell was with Drew offering to arrange for and pay for an experimental surgery that might allow Kai to play ball again? If that was some attempt by the writers to make it known Drew isn’t all bad, it didn’t work!

March is Kidney Disease Month, which explained Stella’s getting tests done for it, and the PSAs we got from her, Tracy and Lucas. Did those come out of nowhere or what?

Finally, the best scene of the week for me had to be Brick showing up at Jordan’s place with flowers and the expression on his face when he realized she was dating Isaiah. Priceless! However, he then had to go and drop hints that Isaiah’s family is apparently bad news. Given Jordan was just ranting to him about Sonny the Mafioso, could Isaiah’s family also be in the business?
