GH RECAP May 22: Gio EXPLODES on Stage – Family Lies Shatter Everything!

Thursday, May 22, 2025: Portia worries about what Curtis will do, Nina warns Carly of what she will say on the stand, and the performances continue at the Nurses’ Ball.

Read the last GH recap: After Gio gave a performance of a lifetime, Lulu dropped a bomb on Lois, and Curtis accused Portia of ruining their marriage.

Portia begs Curtis not to leave her

At the Metro Court, Portia begs Curtis not to walk away from her. She urges him to think of their daughter and the family they have.

He hates that they are in this situation nd he can’t undo what she’s done.

Curtis won’t walk away tonight because it would expose her to Drew. He also won’t let Trina suffer for her mistakes.

They are going to fake being a happy couple tonight.

Nina gets into it with Carly

Nina follows Carly into the bathroom and tells her she wants their détente to work. Whatever happens next is on Carly’s shoulders.

She explains that she will testify about Michael abandoning his family and refusing to see Willow.

Carly says that’s all open for interpretation.

Nina points out only Willow has been their consistently for the kids and she’ll make sure the court sees that.

Ned’s proud of Gio

Ned tells Sonny that it was very good of him to pay for Gio’s musical education. They are both proud of him.

Spotting Drew with Willow, Ned crosses over to him and accuses him of setting up Tracy. Drew pretends ignorance.

Ned is sure that he had the evidence planted in her car. Olivia joins as Ned tells Willow they all wanted to give her credit.

She says she’s no victim in this. She complains that Michael refused to see her and Drew is the only one in her corner.

Olivia tells her not to expect any sympathy when this all blows up.

In the ballroom, BLQ pushes Dante into telling Gio how talented he is.

Lucy chases Dante and Cody backstage to change into their costumes.

Trina and Kai run into Curtis and Portia. He tells his daughter he’s looking forward to her performance and walks off.

After Trina and her date walk off, Nina rushes over to Portia to warn that Curtis is suspicious.

Portia says he knows everything and that has her nervous.

Curtis goes to the bar and tells Jordan that Portia has been blackmailed.

Joss is surprised to run into Vaughn. She asks for champagne and Carly swans over to ask who he is.

Vaughn says they know each other from school and he takes off. Carly tells her daughter he’s cute.

Gio hears the truth about his family

In the dressing room, Lulu confronts Lois for keeping Gio’s parentage a secret from him his entire life.

Lois tells her this is none of her business and she needs to stay out of it. Lulu tells her she knows everything.

Although Lois tries to stop her, Lulu unpacks all the details she’s learned.

They accuse each other of messing with people’s lives. Lois insists that BLQ never knew about any of this.

Lulu bellows that Gio’s whole life has been a cover-up. He’s Dante and BLQ’s son. Who will tell him the truth?

Gio stands at the door and overhears this.

Lois tells Lulu she will be destroying lives. Lulu says what she’s been doing is wrong and the lies need to end. If she doesn’t tell Gio and Dante the truth tonight, she will tell them tomorrow.

Lulu walks out.

Back in the ballroom, Lucy calls YDE (Breanna Nicole Yde) up to perform her song Old Her.

Sonny and Anna chat about Robin and how she wishes she could have been there. They talk about Stone until ADA Turner interrupts.

Anna takes off and Turner tells Sonny he and the commissioner looked intimate. He says they were talking about Robin and Stone and walks off.

At the bar, Jordan tells Gannon how impressive his moves her. He says she should be on his arm, not Sidwell’s.

Drew and Willow talk about being cleared and he suggests they move to DC. Nina joins them and explains she agreed to testify on her daughter’s behalf at the custody hearing.

Nina tells them they have her full support going forward. She hugs her daughter and glares at Drew.

Carly and Joss watch, wanting to throw up.

Willow walks over to Gannon and tells him how great he was.

Lulu grabs Cody and tells him that she confronted Lois. Dante walks over to ask what they are talking about. They cover.

Kai and Trina talk about what they could perform at the ball next year.

Lois chases down BLQ and tells her they need to get out of there immediately. BLQ refuses to miss Chase dancing the tango.

Backstage, Emma tells Anna that her mom would be proud of her. She goes off to find Gio.

Emma finds Gio upstairs and guesses something is wrong. She tells him he needs to play.

Sobbing, he tells her that his mother taught him everything. That’s all he has left of her.

She tells him he doesn’t have to go on if he’s sick. “The show must go on,” he says, trudging off.

Everyone returns to their seats and Lucy introduces Gio, Anna, and Chase for their tango.

They start. Gio only plays a few bars but then stops.

Gio smashes his violin

He steps up and dedicates the performance to his parents, BLQ and Dante. “Two people who didn’t want me. They gave me away and have been lying to me my entire life!” he yells.

He smashes his violin and walks off. Confused Dante looks over to weeping BLQ.
