The 'Next Gen NYC' star called the viral moment "so unprofessional" and said "it's nobody else's business"
Gia Giudice has her mom Teresa Giudice's back.
The Next Gen NYC star, 24, appeared on the July 8 episode of The Viall Files podcast and shared her opinion about her mother abruptly ending a live interview when a local news anchor asked about her history of legal troubles.
"Honestly, I thought she handled it perfectly," Gia told hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy. "She's just… she's over it because people have this whole narrative that we just don't pay our taxes."
The viral moment in question occurred when Teresa was being interviewed on Chicago's WGN News on Friday, June 20.
"How is it that a family doesn't pay their taxes for years?" the anchor, Larry Potash, asked.

"What family are you talking about?" Teresa, 53, responded, to which Potash clarified, "I'm talking about your family. Isn't that what the fraud charges were?"
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, who was appearing on a video call, immediately declared that she was "hanging up" and, as her screen went blank, Potash quipped, "She didn't like that question."
Gia said her mom was on the news program to promote her upcoming appearances and she found the question "so insulting and so unprofessional."
The Rutgers University graduate said she finds it "comical" herself, but that she "feel[s] bad" for her mom because "she's been busting her a-- and paying everything since she got out [of prison]."
"People think they know, still to this day, and they don't," Gia continued. "I know, quite frankly, people want her to just set the record straight but, honestly, it's nobody else's business."
Gia poked fun at the way her mom got "frazzled" in the moment she was trying to hang up from the interview, saying Teresa "barely knows how to film her Cameos" and is "not tech savvy in any way."
Teresa spent time in prison for financial crimes in 2015.
The year prior, Teresa and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, were found guilty of mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud. After she served 11 months of her 15-month sentence, Joe then served a 41-month sentence.

He was released in 2019, but the pair — who share four daughters together — separated after 20 years of marriage shortly after.
Joe, who was deported from the U.S. to Italy, now resides in the Bahamas. Gia recently made a plea for President Trump to pardon her father and allow him to return home to the U.S.
Teresa went on to marry her current husband, Luis "Louie" Ruelas, in 2022.
In March of this year, PEOPLE reported that Teresa and Louie were each issued tax liens totaling $3 million.
During an episode of her podcast, Casual Chaos, Gia assured her listeners that her mom "has everything under control and there's nothing to worry about."
"My mom has been the sole provider for my sisters and I since the minute my father left for prison," she said, adding that her mom has been "working her a– off to make sure that my sisters and I live a stable life and that my family is financially stable."
