Vegas Golden Knights forward Victor Olofsson will return to the lineup tonight against Utah HC after missing 19 games with a lower-body injury.
Olofsson was a key offseason signing by the Golden Knights to replace some of the forwards they lost. Through four games, Olofsson was doing just that, scoring three goals.
He picked up a lower-body injury that gave him a week-to-week status. He was sent down to the Henderson Silver Knights on a conditioning loan but didn't play in any games. Instead, he used the time to skate and get himself as close to 100% as possible.
Olofsson's return to the lineup will be a massive boost to the teams offence and power play. His ability to shoot the puck off of the one-timer and utilize the catch and release is a skill few players possess.
The 29-year-old will skate alongside William Karlsson and Brett Howden in his return to the lineup. Karlsson will provide the defensive stability and Howden will be the hard-working winger. The pair can open up ice for Olofsson to get his grade-A shot off as often as possible.
Cal Burke has been sent down with the return of Olofsson. In his call-up, Burke scored a goal in six games.
Despite Olofsson's return, captain Mark Stone and Zach Whitecloud remain day-to-day with injuries. The Golden Knights are hoping both can return very soon.
