“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough and his wife, former troupe member Hayley Erbert, hit the red carpet for the Oscars on March 2. Erbert noted during an interview with Entertainment Tonight this was one of the first big events she has attended in quite a while, and DWTS fans thought she looked stunning.
Hayley Erbert Wore Her Dark Hair in a Bob
Hough went traditional in a tuxedo, and Erbert wore a glamorous gown with a cape. She wore her dark hair in a short, sleek bob and added long diamond earrings.
During their brief interview with Entertainment Tonight, Erbert joked about how Hough wanted her to keep making grand gestures of throwing her cape around for every photo. The gown gave a bit of a “Wicked” feel, and Erbert joked she’d have to do some creative photos in it later.
Erbert’s gown was exquisite, and her new hairstyle garnered some attention, too. Fans seemed to think suited her well.
“I love this hair length on Hayley. So pretty,” one of Hough’s Facebook followers noted.
Another Facebook user wrote, “She looks beautiful!!!!”

The DWTS Alum Had to Shave off Her Hair After a Medical Emergency
Erbert’s initial hairstyle change from long to short was not something she had planned to do. It became a necessity after a medical emergency.
On December 7, 2023, Hough asked for prayers for Erbert in an Instagram post. He explained, “At the end of last night’s tour performance in Washington, D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital.”
Hough continued, “She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy.”
Erbert has experienced a tremendous recovery, and she was even able to return to the dance floor with Hough on tour.
Throughout her recovery, Erbert has embraced her hairstyle changes and the current bob is a hit with fans.
“You are such a fun and classy couple. You both look spectacular, and that hairstyle on Hayley is perfection,” a fan wrote on Hough’s Instagram post about the outing.
“That wife of yours is the most beautiful woman on the planet,” added another Instagram user.
Someone else commented, “Have a beautiful night 😍 you [two] gorgeous people !!! 🔥🔥🔥”
