Finn and Luna hug as she weeps happy tears. Finn swears that if he’d known she was his daughter, he’d have been there for her. Luna, meanwhile, is thrilled that for the first time, she is looking into the eyes of her father. As they continue discussing their newly complicated relationship, Luna says that she’s always loved him, and his being her father is more than she ever could have wished for. “But you can’t feel the same toward me, especially after what I did” to Steffy, she realizes. She follows this up with the million-dollar question: “Will you ever be able to look at me and embrace me as your daughter?”

But embrace they do, even as she admits understanding that he is in an impossible situation. As he prepares to go home and talk to Steffy — whose head will no doubt explode when she finds out exactly where Luna’s serving her sentence — Luna thanks him for telling the truth rather than lying to her the way Poppy did. The last thing she says before he walks out? “I love you for that… Dad.”

Steffy Refuses to Leave Her Husband

Bold Taylor Ridge Steffy

At the beach house, a clearly emotional Steffy listens as Taylor insists that she pack up the kids and leave Finn for their own safety. Sure, Finn would do nothing to hurt them, but, says Taylor, “everybody related to him would!” First Sheila and now Luna. Steffy has no intention of leaving, even as Ridge urges her to pack a few things and leave with them. “Finn and I vowed never to let anything come between us again,” she says. But her parents remain insistent, even as Steffy repeatedly insists that Luna can never hurt them, as she’s going to be behind bars for the rest of her life.

Carter Tries (and Fails) to Explain Himself

Bold Hope doubts Carter

More: Fans rocked by axing of two CBS shows

Things are tense in the main office at Forrester, where Carter is surprised to hear that Hope was on the other side of the door during his conversation — and kiss — with Daphne. He never, ever would want to hurt her. But the last thing he expected was for Daphne to kiss him. Hold up, says Hope, asking if he’s trying to blame Daphne for what happened between them! He tries explaining himself, very aware of what Hope’s been through with men in the past. But she struggles to hear what he’s saying, her head clearly filled with doubts. Did he, perhaps, lead Daphne on? After all, the two of them have been spending an awful lot of time together of late.

Carter reluctantly acknowledges that he and Daphne spent a lot of time talking, which isn’t exactly what Hope wants to hear. “So you were sharing your feelings?” she asks, bitterly and he replies that Daphne understood. (Wrong answer, dude. So, so wrong!) He apologizes for letting her down. “I believed in you,” she says, practically vibrating with her sense of betrayal. “Your vision, not only for the company, but for us. And you told me that you would look out for me, that you would have my back. That it wasn’t just empty promises and empty words and that you were different. That you weren’t like those other men in my life. So can you tell me why I am standing here with that same bitter taste of betrayal in my mouth?”

Bold Hope Daphne

More: Is Daphne Rose about to exit the soap?

As the episode ends, Hope crosses the hall and enters the design office, where she finds Daphne packing her things. Daphne — fresh off a conversation with Zende in which she talked about Carter having regrets where the takeover was concerned — says she’s heading back to Paris tonight. This leaves Hope to ask why. “Is it because you’re falling for Carter?” Meanwhile, Ridge and Taylor return home, more certain than ever that Steffy is making a mistake by remaining with Finn. They try, however, to comfort themselves with the (mistaken) knowledge that Luna is behind bars. And when Finn arrives at the beach house, Steffy says the same basic thing. The look on Finn’s face, however, tells another story, as he shares that there’s something his wife needs to know about Luna…
