Phyllis’ desperation for a job has fans questioning her wealth.
Y&R fans are questioning Phyllis' wealth after her behavior in trying to go into business with Dumas.
Phyllis is one of the many strong-willed businesswomen on The Young and the Restless. Throughout the years, she’s built up an impressive resume working with Genoa City’s elite while also pursuing her own ventures. However, Phyllis’ wealth is raising suspicions among fans after her recent behavior.
Money Woes?
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has built quite an established career as a businesswoman. She’s worked with Jabot and Newman, helped launch Restless Style, and owned The Grand Phoenix hotel. Between all her jobs and ventures, one would assume Phyllis would have acquired a lot of money.
However, that might not be the case.
Recently, Phyllis has been anxious to go into business with Aristotle Dumas/Cane (Billy Flynn). Phyllis’ behavior raised suspicions with viewers, who spotted clues that she might be having financial issues.
On Reddit, fans discussed what happened to her supposed huge net wealth.
“Why is Daniel acting like Phyllis is broke? Didn’t she make a ton of money selling the Phoenix to Lily?” asked one user.
“Daniel hinted that things were tight for them when he mentioned the cost of the trip to Nice,” another fan replied.
“She had to pay a ton of money back to Nick and she paid 1/2 of money to Stark to help her play dead. Phyllis hacked into Jabot for Tucker to pay back the insurance company,” one viewer wrote.
”Phyllis should have but like another character on the soap, they like to forget that these people have money,” another fan argued.
Whether Phyllis is having money problems or not remains to be seen. One thing is certain, Phyllis is going to be a key player in Cane’s plan for Genoa City’s business district. Phyllis’ deal with Cane will get her back on top of the corporate world. But will it come at a price?
