I Desperately Want 1 Marvel Movie Star's Deadpool 4 Dreams To Become Reality

Deadpool 4 has yet to be confirmed, but if it does get made, I really want to see one of the main actors finally get their dream role. Deadpool is a relatively modern character from the Marvel Comics, but it didn't take long for the character to make big waves in film and TV. And more recently, the Deadpool movies from Fox have finally connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine crossing the multiverse.

However, since Ryan Reynolds donned the suit and got his own series of films back in 2016, the side characters from Deadpool comics have slowly trickled in. With one notable character, Vanessa, being present from the beginning, it's easy to think that her character is just the human love interest for the Merc with the Mouth, but the comics actually set up Vanessa Carlyle with a rich backstory, and actress Morena Baccarin is ready and waiting to bring that to the big screen (via Comicbook).

Vanessa Becoming Copycat Would Be Perfect For The Deadpool Series & The MCU

Vanessa Is Ready To Become A Superhero In The MCU

In the comics, Vanessa Carlyle is a mutant. Just like Wade and the X-Men, she has the gene that caused her to be born different to homo-sapiens, and granted her powers that are equally magical, and terrifying. For Vanessa, her powers were manifest from the very beginning, when she was born a light shade of blue skin, with snow-white hair, and demonic red eyes. As fate would have it, Vanessa had similar powers and afflictions to Mystique, another Marvel character who has already been adapted in the Fox movies twice.

But Vanessa's story in the Deadpool movies has followed a different course. Instead of being born with a visible mutation, and growing up and harnessing her gifts, Vanessa appears to be an ordinary human. But if Vanessa is brought over to the MCU, it could be the perfect time to adapt her mutant background, especially considering the MCU being on a fast track to introducing mutants and beginning their saga. Having Vanessa get powers and a physical alteration would also be a great way to have her reconnect with Wade Wilson, after their relationship broke down years earlier.

Deadpool & Wolverine's Ending Teased Vanessa Would Be A Key Character In Deadpool 4

At the end of Deadpool & Wolverine, the film left fans like myself wondering if Wade and Vanessa were ready to get back together, since Wade was finally out of his slump. It looked as though they shared a brief spark of chemistry while they were gathered together with their found family, so it would make sense to have the two reconnect in Deadpool 4. But, even if the couple doesn't rekindle their romance, its worth exploring their relationship as friends, and Vanessa becoming the antihero, Copycat, would be a great way to drive the story forward.

Wade deeply values his relationship with Vanessa, regardless of whether she wants romance. So, of course, if she developed powers, Wade would be right by her side to help her. And having her physically transform, while not having the same scars as Wade, but seeing a very different face in the mirror than the one she was used to could help them connect on a deeper level. All things considered, this feels like the best way to move Deadpool's story forward, and it brings back a key character who is perfectly positioned in the franchise after her notably reduced roles in the other sequels.

Deadpool 4 Could Be The Best Thing For The MCU Right Now

On top of all this, it just makes sense to make a Deadpool 4. Deadpool & Wolverine obliterated the record for the biggest R-rated box office of all time, it generated enormous engagement and admiration from fans, and it brought Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds hasn't said anything about retiring the character, and now that Deadpool has a clear path to the MCU, it would make less sense to not capitalize on the character and give them another sequel.

With the first movie exploring Wade's transformation and his road to revenge, the second explored his humanity and desire to be a hero, with Cable joining the story to help him get to that point, as he tries to save a kid, instead of taking the easy way out. In Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool had to overcome his inner demons, and his flaws, and he was joined by a down in the dumps Wolverine who had a similar path. Deadpool 4 could see Wade finally accept himself as he helps Vanessa embrace her powers and her new looks, and maybe find love along the way.
