NHL insider Darren Dreger shared the Sabres' current trade plans as they continue to struggle.
The Buffalo Sabres have lost eight straight games and have an underwhelming 11-14-4 season. With the Sabres struggling so mightily, there naturally have been questions about whether or not the Atlantic Division club could make a trade quickly to try to stop the bleeding.
However, NHL insider Darren Dreger made it clear that this is not the Sabres' plan and that they will instead be patient with the roster they have.
Here is what Dreger said on the matter:
"I think that there's hope from an ownership and management perspective... I can tell you that there's no sense of panic. We know that general manager Kevyn Adams delivered that message to the media availability late last week. Of course, calls are coming in, but they're looking for younger talent like Jack Quinn and others. But Adams isn't doing that. That doesn't make a whole lotta sense...
Dreger also added:
"In the meantime, the general manager is simply going to support the experience of Lindy Ruff as a head coach of the Buffalo Sabres who continues to administer accountability, so for now, that has to be status quo."
While things are not going well for the Sabres right now, it appears that they will trust their current roster to turn things around. It will be interesting to see if they can, but if the struggles continue, that would have the potential to change their current approach.
