“Sister Wives” is currently on a midseason break, but could the upcoming episodes be the final chapter of the TLC reality series?

While TLC has not made any official announcements about the future of “Sister Wives,” now seems like a good time for the show to end. A decade and a half after audiences were introduced to Kody Brown and his three wives during the 2010 series premiere, all three of those women — Christine, Meri, and Janelle Brown — have left Kody.

Kody’s only remaining wife is Robyn Brown, whom he married during season 1.

“Sister Wives” was supposed to center on a polygamist family, but with Robyn saying during a December 2024 episode that she would need a “guarantee” of a “positive successful experience” before she would try another “plural marriage,” the show looks very different now.

It would make sense for season 19 to be the “Sister Wives” swan song. There could be a spinoff that focuses on some or all of the cast members, but the original premise seems to have run its course. Not only is Kody no longer in a polygamous marriage, but he’s also estranged from many of his 14 children.

One hint that season 19 of “Sister Wives” could be its last is the unusual number of episodes. Seasons of the reality series have historically ranged from 7-18 episodes, but season 19 had 20 episodes in the first half of the season alone. That could be a sign that season 19 is Sister Wives’ last hurrah.

TLC has not yet confirmed when “Sister Wives” will return, but it seems likely that the midseason premiere could come after season 1 of Alec Baldwin’s enw reality show, “The Baldwins,” comes to an end.

“The Baldwins” premiered on TLC on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10 p.m. EST. It took the “Sister Wives” time slot two weeks after the midseason finale on Sunday, Feb. 2.
