Britain's Got Talent has come under fire once more with a fresh batch of Ofcom complaints after viewers were left shaken by a 'horrifying' act from a semi-finalist.
The ITV spectacle was beamed live from London for the third semi-final round this weekend. The series had already faced scrutiny after Ofcom received numerous complaints over sword swallower Auzzy Blood's performance in the first semi-final, and now another 'horrifying' act has sparked viewer backlash.
Ofcom confirmed that Saturday night's episode, which aired on May 10, attracted 65 complaints, with most of them concerning danger act Bao Cuong's eyebrow-raising routine.
During the show, dance troupe Ping Pong Pan and drag queen opera singer Jasmine Rice wowed the audience, securing their spots in the grand final, while Bao finished in seventh place.
The judges, along with the audience at home, were left gobsmacked by Bao's daredevil antics, prompting Amanda Holden to admit it was "horrific to watch".
In a particularly jaw-dropping moment, Bao was seen dragging hosts Ant and Dec across the stage on a motorbike using only his eyelids.
Amanda was lost for words, commenting, "I don't know what to say. Horrific to watch. At the same time, you can't take your eyes off you," while Bruno echoed her sentiments, saying: "I am exhausted. You may not like this kind of act, but you are a master of what you do. You are the best at what you do.", reports the Mirror.
Stunt performer Bao left the crowd in shock with his eye-watering stunts, as he demonstrated his ability to lift objects by attaching a chain to his eyelid, an act so alarming that screams could be heard from the audience.
Alesha Dixon was quite taken aback, remarking: "Its such a difficult act to watch. My eyes were hurting watching your eyes. I am exhausted."
Simon Cowell couldn't quite cope either, admitting: "You look so normal and sweet then you do these terrible things to yourself. It's very difficult to watch you do these terrible things to you but at the same time I loved it."
Bruno Tonioli, during the third live semi-final, had the pleasure of hitting the Golden Buzzer for drag queen opera singer Jasmine Rice, after she belted out Never Enough.
Having already used his own Golden Buzzer, Bruno told Ping Pong Pang: "If I had another Golden Buzzer, I would give it to you."
Fortunately, the public agreed with the judges, as they ended up bagging the majority of audience votes.
