The month of March was exactly what the Vegas Golden Knights needed to prepare them for the playoff push, and their best player that month has been rewarded.

On Tuesday, the NHL announced that Golden Knights center Jack Eichel was named the First Star of the Month for March.

Winning the honor is not too surprising, as Eichel has been absolutely electric over the last month.

In March, Eichel scored eight goals and 15 assists to pace the league with 23 points for the month. With 93 points now on the season, Eichel has set numerous milestones, setting the record for the most points by a Golden Knight in a single season, as well as his own personal best. The strong month has Eichel on pace to cross the 100-point mark for the first time in his career.

This latest achievement is another sign of how Eichel has emerged as one of the NHL’s elite players since arriving in Vegas.

The second overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft behind Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid, Eichel always had the talent to be one of the best players in the world. Since being traded to Vegas in 2021, however, Eichel has blossomed into the elite forward the Golden Knights needed to finally break through. From the Stanley Cup run in 2023 to his career year this season, Eichel is already arguably the best player in franchise history.

The Golden Knights are on the verge of winning the Pacific Division and qualifying for the playoff for the seventh time in their eight seasons in the league, and Eichel has played a massive role in that success.
