Janette Manrara shared a 'recovery' update with fans after being struck down with a dental emergency that saw her have to miss performing on stage.

Fans will be aware that the dancer and presenter has been touring the country in the musical Chicago, having made her stage debut in the iconic role of Roxie Hart earlier this year.

But during her recent visit to Blackpool with the show, Janette suffered a bout of ill health that forced her to miss a few shows She went on to make a return to the stage but then found herself out of the show once again over the weekend.

Taking to Instagram, the former Strictly Come Dancing pro confirmed she'd had to undergo emergency dental surgery and shared pictures with one of her cheeks double its normal size.

It was then on Saturday (August 2), that Janette shared her update. Sharing a picture she'd captured of her mother and her daughter, Lyra Rose, sitting together on a bench in the countryside, she said: "Nothing like some food for the soul. Grandma and Lyra Rose.

"Slowly recovering but some fresh air w/ my mom and Lyra was exactly the medicine I needed. Thank you for all the get well wishes."

It came after Janette delighted fans by sharing a video of her visit, with Lyra, to see the Strictly pros in rehearsals as they prepare for the 2025 run of the hit BBC One dance show.

It was back in April that the BBC confirmed the professional line-up for the upcoming run of the hit dance show. As well as Janette's husband Aljaz Skorjanec, Amy Dowden, Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez and Luba Mushtuk will all take to the floor once more.

 

They will also be joined by Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Dianne Buswell, Nancy Xu, Kai Widdrington, Michelle Tsiakkas, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Nikita Kuzmin and Vito Coppola.

It was also confirmed that two new professional dancers will be joining the show and the newcomers have since been revealed as So You Think You Can Dance champion Alexis Warr and Australia’s Dancing With The Stars' Julian Caillon.

Janette has since revealed that she surprised the pros with a visit alongside her and Aljaz's young daughter. Alongside a video of their surprise, Janette shared on Instagram: "Come with us to surprise the @bbcstrictly pros in their first week of rehearsals!

"Lyra Rose was so excited to surprise her daddy @aljazskorjanec and get some inside scoop on how rehearsals were going. She loved telling them some stories of her own, giving lots of hugs, surprising daddy, and having a little dance w/ one of our news pros @julian_caillon! The cutest afternoon break for all the pros working so hard! #StrictlyComeDancing #StrictlyProfessionals."

The dancers themselves have seen been flooding the post with their own messages, with same sharing a demand for Lyra's presence. Gorka said: "Should be a everyday visit [love heart eyes emojis]." Dianne replied: "Watched this too many times [heart emoji]."

Lauren asked: "Love her!! Can she come in every day??" Johannes gushed: "She is adorable." Nadiya shared: "The sweetest visit." Amy posted: "The best visit." Aljaz added: "This is everything."
