Former Toronto Maple Leafs player and front office member Jason Spezza has officially landed his first General Manager role in the Penguins organization.
The move comes just a year after Jason Spezza left the Toronto Maple Leafs along with Kyle Dubas to head to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He will now be in charge of managing the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins. His success in this role could provide major hope to the future of a Penguins roster that is in desperate need of youth.
In addition to the Jason Spezza announcement, Amanda Kessel, the sister of former Toronto Maple Leaf Phil Kessel, is also joining the Pittsburgh Penguins in a full-time role. Amanda Kessel will end her illustrious playing career in the PWHL for the 2024-25 season in favor of this position with the Penguins.
The two will work closely with one another in building the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins for years to come.
