Jax Taylor Announces Break from Social Media & Sheds Tears as He Questions If He Chose The Wrong Life, Plus Jax Addresses Accusation That He Never Went to Rehab

Jax Taylor announced his break from social media, and he shed tears as he questioned if he had chosen the wrong life. The Valley star also addressed an accusation that he never went to rehab.

Amid his divorce from Brittany Cartwright, Jax went to rehab for alcohol and cocaine addiction. He opened up about his recovery shortly before the new season aired. Though many fans have shown support for Jax amid his recovery, others questioned his motives.

On Instagram, Jax recently shared his announcement.

“I’ve made the decision to stay off social media for the next while to prioritize my mental health and recovery,” he said. “My team will be running it for the time being.”’

Meanwhile, on his In The Mind of Jax Taylor podcast, Jax questioned if he had chosen the wrong life.

“The stuff that we go through is not normal,” he said cryptically. “It’s not normal. Maybe it’s the normal way in LA. Maybe it’s the normal way in the entertainment industry, which even then, to me, is not really normal.”

“But I go back to [my home state of] Michigan and … sometimes I’ll just get up in the morning and sit there and be like, ‘What if I had this life? What if I would have…?'” said Jax, unable to finish as he began to shed tears.

At one point in the podcast, Jax reacted to speculation that he never went to rehab.

“A lot of you guys have these conspiracy theories that I did not go to rehab [or a] mental health facility,” he said, via @thebravoinvestigator on Instagram. “[And] a lot of people say, ‘Well, why are you calling [it] a mental health facility one week and rehab [the] next week?’ Because they did both. And I was there two times. I was there for 30 days the first time, and I was there for 17 days the second time.”

He then addressed fans’ suspicions about why he had his phone in rehab, where he allegedly ‘rage texted’ Brittany.

“I don’t make the rules in rehab, okay?” he said. “They took away my phone for 48 hours. Now, should I have had my phone the whole time? Probably not – but you know what? They gave it to me, and this is where we are.”

“People were saying I was living in a basement, I was living at my producer’s house, I was living in my own apartment [and] just saying I was [at rehab],” Jax added. “I don’t know where any of this is coming from … I paid for this facility myself, [and it] was not court ordered.”

According to Jax, he thinks the facility was more “lenient” because his stay was “voluntary.”

“[But] having my phone gave me the control. And unfortunately, I used it in the wrong way – instead of checking emails for work or whatever,” he said. “I used it to … text Brittany, which I should not have done.”
