As ever, partners to Real Housewives often get sucked into the drama. Others, however, choose to keep their partners off camera, as is the case for Jenna Lyons on The Real Housewives of New York. Co-star Jessel Taank reacted to that decision during a recent interview. Her husband, Pavit Randhawa is fair game to all the drama on the show.
Jenna and Cass Bird went public in July 2023, with a social media post showing off their romantic Mediterranean getaway. But the former president of J. Crew has chosen to keep her girlfriend away from RHONY cameras.
Jessel Taank referred to Jenna Lyons and Cass’ “mindset” as not ready to share on national television
Jessel exclusively told People last week that it’s challenging to have some cast members transparent with their private lives, while others choose not to.
“I think it really is a double-edged sword,” she explained. “At the same time, [my husband] Pavit turned around one day and was like, ‘I didn’t sign up for this. You did. I don’t really feel comfortable being on camera.’”
Of course, such a decision cannot be forced on others. And while Pavit may have some reservations, he’s used the opportunity to become a food influencer. He did get pulled into RHONY drama recently when Sai De Silva called him a Dory look-alike from Finding Nemo.
“You can’t really force someone to all of a sudden share their lives on national television. And so I think that’s kind of where Jenna and Cass, their mindset is at,” Jessel shared.
Cass is choosing not to film with her love. But her mother stepped in. Jenna had her girlfriend’s mother over on the Season 15 premiere to help her clean out her closet.
“Nancy is my girlfriend Cass’ mother, and this visit is the first time she and I have ever met. She’s been funny and lovely and sharing stories about Cass. It’s been awesome,” Jenna shared in a confessional interview.
