Jermaine Johnson has an Aaron Rodgers level of optimism regarding his return from a season-ending Achilles injury.
Early in his third season, Johnson went down with the serious problem. He sustained it in the Jets’ Week 2 contest against the Titans. The 25-year-old was carted off the field and the extent of his injury was later revealed.
Johnson has remained positive in the limited occasions we’ve heard from him since the injury. That continued in a recent talk with the New York Post.
An Achilles injury can usually take a year or more to fully heal from. On top of that, most believe a player is not back to their full form until two years after the injury.
Like Rodgers predicted he would return a lot sooner than most predicted when the same injury bug bit him, Johnson has the same feelings in mind.
Johnson believes he will be back by spring practices in May. That will be a heck of a quick return, but the positive mindset is key in any recovery.
