J.T. Miller receives loud ovation at Whitecap's game nguyensa

The Vancouver Canucks' season may be over now, but for some players, they've stayed in the city for a little bit longer before they head home for the summer.

On Saturday night, Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller and former goaltender Kirk McLean were shown on the big screen at BC Place as the Vancouver Whitecaps were taking on Inter Miami.

Miller and McLean were given a loud ovation from the 50,000+ that were in attendance and both proceeded to chug their beers which gave the fans something to cheer about.

Saturday night's game was supposed to be a big night for the City of Vancouver. With the Whitecaps hosting Inter Miami, it meant that Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets would be making the trip north of the border for the match. Or at least many thought they would.

A few days before the match, it was announced that the trio of former Barcelona stars would not be coming to Vancouver, but an official reason was never given. Some are thinking it could because the surface at BC Place is turf and not grass like every other MLS club.

The Vancouver Whitecaps would go on to lose the match by a score of 2-1 despite a late push and a Ryan Gauld goal via a penalty in the 72nd minute.
