Spilling the tea...
Bachelor Nation got to know Justin Glaze on Season 17 of “The Bachelorette,” Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” and he has returned to our screens again for Season 10 of “Paradise.”
Justin famously dated fellow Bachelor Nation star Susie Evans for over a year, but the two ultimately decided to split up earlier this year.
The two exes reunited on this week’s episode of “Bachelor in Paradise” as Susie officially joined the cast, and fans saw a shocking turn of events when Justin offered his rose to her rather than Lexi Young, who he had been forming a connection with.
Now, Justin is opening up on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and revealing the reason why he ultimately made that decision.

He admitted that when it came time to hand out the rose, it was a last-minute decision.
He said, “It was such a split-second decision, but in my brain I was like, okay, on one hand, there’s this person that I’ve known for four or five days that isn’t really giving me any rhythm here. I can’t really get a true pulse as to how she feels about me. This person could really flip flop and play me tomorrow when new guys come in. Aside from that cocktail party conversation, I have no real reason to believe that she really wants to pursue something with me long term. So, there’s a ton of question marks here.”
Justin continued, revealing the main reason why he decided to offer the rose to Susie rather than Lexi.
“On this other hand, I have this person that has been my best friend for an entire year who has continued to be my best friend through dating her for over a year,” he shared, “Who I feel like got the short end of the stick and often does in life when she tries to put herself on the back burner and to do things for other people… And I could give her this opportunity to ultimately self-sacrifice and give her a chance at life because I don’t think she got a fair one. Jeremy’s the only guy that pulled her, I felt so bad. And so, I weighed those things out and that’s ultimately what led to my decision.”
Justin then admitted that he didn’t expect Susie to turn down his rose but later came to understand why she did.
“I think it was a surprise to all parties involved and not involved how that went down,” he said, “I wasn’t able to have a conversation with her beforehand. I wasn’t able to tell her what I wanted to try to do for her, so I have to put myself in her shoes. She’s probably expecting me to give this rose to Lexi, and so if I know Susie, of course like here I am trying to do something selfless for someone who is selfless. And what would the selfless thing be for her to do? Not accept the rose because she wouldn’t want to step on Lexi’s toes.”
