Good news!

Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and has been keeping followers updated about her treatment journey online.

A couple months ago, Katie revealed the news that her breast cancer had spread to her liver and was at stage 4.

She’s opened up previously about how her cancer isn’t curable, but it is treatable, and she recently started a new treatment plan.

Katie recently had her first scans since starting her cancer treatments, and took to Instagram to share some good news.

Alongside a video of her in the doctor’s office, she revealed, “Today the scans confirmed the tumors are SHRINKING!!”

Katie continued and expressed what the results of the scans mean to her, as well as her treatment plan moving forward.

She wrote, “This is amazing news and I am so relieved! People don’t realize , as it stands now, I’ll be on a treatment plan for life.”

The Bachelor Nation star went on, “There isn’t a cure for breast cancer. But as long as funding for medical research continues, especially for #metavivors , then we have a chance at continuing a long healthy life. 🙏”

Katie also posted a picture on her Instagram showing the reduced size of her tumor compared to when she was first diagnosed five months ago.

The picture shows the original size was about 1.5 times bigger than a quarter, and the size after treatment is smaller than the coin.

She wrote next to it, “I share this because it’s the number one question I get asked. What did it feel like? How big was it? Breast cancer isn’t a ping pong ball that shows up overnight. It’s a gradual change with time.”

Fellow Bachelor Nation stars filled the comments with love, such as Susie Evans writing, “So happy for you Katie!!!!,” Jade Roper adding, “The best news!!! You got this, Katie! ❤️❤️,” and Kaitlyn Bristowe offering, “Love you Katie.”

We are so happy for Katie! We’re continuing to send our love and wish her all the best on her treatment journey. You’ve got this, Katie!
