Kyle Richards Shares Update on Daughter’s Career Pivot

“RHOBH” star Kyle Richards recently gave an update on her daughter Sophia Umansky’s new career. Umansky recently made the switch from working in real estate to becoming a social media influencer, and Richards is supportive of the change.

“It’s so funny, because real estate was not for her,” Richards revealed during a recent Amazon Live stream. Umansky had been working at her father Mauricio’s firm The Agency, but is currently finding success as an influencer. “… that’s actually her business now,” Richards explained. “She’s actually doing really well.”

Richards is a fan of the content her daughter creates, but admitted she’s been caught off guard while Umansky is filming. “You have to be really careful around her,” Richards said. “She just whips that phone out and I’m like, ‘Sophia! What are you doing?!’ Like, ‘My pajamas are see-through! Leave me alone!'”

It sounds as though Umansky might take after her reality star mom, who has been a cast member on “RHOBH” since its 2010 premiere. “She is so funny and she does not hold back with anything,” Richards shared.

Sophia Umansky’s Career Path

Umansky graduated from George Washington University in 2022, where she studied psychological and brain sciences. Richards had a proud mom moment and took to Instagram to post a pic of Umansky decked out in her cap and gown. “I love you so much & am so proud of you every day,” she captioned the post, adding “But today my heart is bursting with pride.”

Although it wasn’t in line with her major, Umansky began working at her father’s brokerage firm after college. She joined her sisters, Farrah Aldjufrie and Alexia Umansky, at The Agency where she learned the ropes while studying for her real estate license.

Umansky, her sisters, and her father Mauricio all appeared on the Netflix reality series “Buying Beverly Hills” which documented daily life at and the inner-workings of The Agency.

Why Sophia Left The Agency

During a different Amazon Live broadcast, Umansky was asked if she was still working alongside her dad and she confirmed she was not. But it sounded as though she wasn’t ready to abandon the real estate biz for good.

While Umansky explained she wasn’t “currently” working at The Agency, she also said, “I was exploring [real estate] and I might again, but right now I’m not.”

During a 2022 interview with People, Maurico Umansky spoke about the challenges of mixing work and family life. “When you’re working with your family, you can bring all of that stress with you,” he admitted.
