Kyle Richards Stands Up For Herself After RHOBH Departure Suggestion

Kyle Richards reacted to her co-star’s insinuation that she does not share her full life on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

During a February 4 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” a viewer asked the RHOBH OG about Garcelle Beauvais’ suggestion that it might be time for her to leave the Bravo reality show she has starred in since 2010.

Richards noted that Beauvais made the comment because she wouldn’t answer a question. “I don’t think Garcelle realizes how much I have shared over these 14 years of my life on the show,” Richards said. “Between my having two siblings on the show, and what I’m going through with my separation. Even having that conversation which is very painful with my children last year. I’ve shared so much, and you know, I guess she wanted one specific answer that she wasn’t getting.”

“I mean, some of these people don’t show their kids on the show,” Richards pointed out. (Beauvais’ teen son Jax Nilon does not appear on RHOBH, but his twin brother Jaid does.)

“You know, we don’t see a lot of people’s kids or they don’t want to talk about certain things and I respected that,” she added. “So I, you know, I’m getting used to the jabs at this point.”

Beauvais’ comments about Richards came during a January 2025 episode of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show.” During a sitdown with co-stars Sutton Stracke and Jennifer Tilly, Beauvais agreed that Richards has been reluctant to speak about several aspects of her life during season 14, including her separation from her husband Mauricio Umansky and her close relationship with singer Morgan Wade.

“Even before I joined the group, I knew Kyle to be the one to open up and share,” Beauvais said on the “After Show.” “And listen, she’s been on the show for 14 seasons, and she’s shared a lot of her life. A lot of her life. But if you no longer want to show a certain part, then you gotta leave.”

Kyle Richards Also Addressed Her Reaction to Garcelle Beauvais’ Joke’

Richards also addressed a comment Beauvais made directly to her during filming amid rumors that she had a romantic relationship with Wade.

In the season 14 episode, “What the Chuck,” Beauvais encouraged Richards to be herself. “I’m going to be 100 percent blunt,” Beauvais said during an outing to Chuck E Cheese. “Do whatever the [expletive] you want to do. Be whoever you want to be. If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian.”

Richards later addressed the comment on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show‘. “What was really going through my head was, ‘You’re being an [expletive] right now,'” Richards said of Beauvais. “And don’t try to act like, ‘Oopsy daisies,’ you know exactly what you’re doing.”

On WWHL, host Andy Cohen told Richards the number one fan question he got about her was her reaction to Beauvais’ joke about her sexuality.

Richards explained, “The reason I said that was because I had a private conversation with Garcelle, which was a genuine conversation, and it meant a lot to me. So when she did that I felt like ‘Wow, you took our private conversation that meant a lot to me and you weaponized it.’”

The RHOBH star added that her off-camera conversation with Beauvais left her feeling like they were becoming “really close.” “So when she did that, and then Sutton said something on camera, I thought ‘Gosh, I really thought they were my friends and why are they doing that right now?” Richards explained.

In January 2025, Beauvais told TMZ that all is “good” between her and Richards now, and that she never intended to hurt her. “I meant it to be encouraging,” she said of the comment about sexuality.
