Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak has been in the news quite a bit over the last few years. Sadly, most of it has been negative, as she’s battling severe financial woes and divorcing Kroy Biermann. Now, things are finally looking up for Kim, and she’s all smiles thanks to a brand new relationship. She recently gushed about her new beau and opened up about being the happiest she’s been in a while.
Kim, 46, and Kroy, 39, met in 2010 and tied the knot the following year. The couple showed much of their lives together on reality television, but unfortunately, they filed for divorce in 2023. Recently, they moved out of their Atlanta mansion and were able to sell it, albeit for much less than their original asking price.
TMZ caught up with Kim while she was out and asked about her dating life. In response, she said, “I’m really happy.” The interviewer then asked for a bit more information and specifically asked if she was dating. She responded, “Yes.”
The brief encounter continued, and the person behind the camera began to ask for details about her new love interest. She specified that she’s dating one person and not “playing the field.” She confirmed that he’s not in entertainment and that he’s not a former athlete. He also lives in Atlanta, and he is “age appropriate.”
The former RHOA star went on, “I’m just dating. I wasn’t doing what Kroy was doing. I was at the house with the kids. So, now I’m out.”
“I’m just happy. I mean, I have my kids. I’m in my new house. I’m working. My kids are happy, happier,” she added.
An insider reached out to PEOPLE and provided a few details about Kim’s new boyfriend. Namely, the source confirmed what Kim said to TMZ, which is that the new man is an “average Joe.” The source also said that they met on Instagram.
