Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov picked up a goal and an assist on Wednesday to extend his point streak to seven games.
Montreal Canadiens first-round pick Ivan Demidov is currently on the best point streak of his professional hockey career, collecting a goal and an assist in SKA St. Petersburg's 3-2 loss to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the latest KHL action.
With SKA down 1-0 in the first period, Demidov scored a highlight reel goal to tie the contest. Then, when they fell behind again, the rookie phenom set up his linemate Evgeny Kuznetsov to tie the contest for the second time in the opening period.
Even though SKA lost for the first time in eight games, Demidov has at least one point in his last seven previous contests, scoring two goals and nine assists.
The 18-year-old has 19 points in 22 games to rank second in team scoring, tied with Tony DeAngelo, but behind scoring behind New Jersey Devils prospect Arseni Gritsyuk, who has 22 points.
Moreover, since his four-point game on Oct. 23, Demidov's average ice time is now 16:07, which is a season-high and not bad for a kid who skates on the third line.
