The Real Housewives of Miami is returning for its seventh season, and among the cast is Lisa Hochstein. She recently attended the premiere for the new season and not only discussed what fans can expect, but also reunited with her ex-mother-in-law.
Lisa and Lenny Hochstein went through a very public and drawn-out divorce. It began in 2022 but wasn’t finalized until November of last year. During that time, they both moved on to other people. She’s dating Jody Glidden, while he has had an on-again, off-again engagement to Katharina Mazepa. Latest reports say they are currently engaged.
While attending the RHOM premiere, Lisa briefly spoke to Entertainment Tonight‘s Brice Sander. When asked if she’s “chummy” with the cast, Lisa responded, “I’m adulting. So, I’m just gonna go and be cordial and friendly with everybody because that’s what adults do.”
He then asked, “Larsa included?” Notably, previews have shown that the two are at odds this season. She said, “Yep. Right now it’s… It’s okay. We’ll see as the season and the episodes get released. We’ll see what happens because it really kind of recaps everything and you get to see what everybody says behind the scenes and sometimes that can be triggering, but I really don’t know until I see it all.”
Brice went on to ask for her overall feelings about the new season. Lisa explained, “I think I’m most looking forward to people seeing me come out on the other side. Me flourishing and actually being better than ever.”
She continued, “I think that some people wanted me to fail, some people were rooting for me, and I’m just happy that I am at the best place in my life right now. I feel like I’ve really grown, and I have SplitWell[her new divorce company], I have my kids, I’m healthy, I have my man, so everything’s good.”
The topic of her ex-mother-in-law also came up. Lisa said, “I’m really happy that Maurine and I have made up right now. I hope this continues forever because family first.”
Brice also spoke to Maurine and asked how she’s feeling about having reconciled with Lisa. According to her, “You know, it was a birthday celebration for the grandkids, and after a couple of years, when I didn’t see Lisa, we met again, and I decided that it’s time. It’s a family and no matter what could happen, the kids have to have a grandmother and mother for who are friends, not an enemy.”
She went on, “And from that point, we are friends, and for the kids’ sake, to make them happy. I hope I will be happy because in a way, I’ve known Lisa for more than 15 years, and she was my daughter-in-law, but I feel like [she’s] a daughter, and it’s upsetting, but life is life, and anything could happen.”
From there, she called their reconciliation “wonder” and said she can enjoy her grandkids even more. When asked how Lenny feels about this, she said he only wants her to “make it nice.”
