Training camp tension is brewing in Denver — and veteran linebacker Alex Singleton is right at the center of it.

According to multiple sources inside the Broncos facility, Singleton has reportedly grown frustrated with his evolving role in the defense under new staff tweaks this offseason. Despite being one of the team’s most vocal and consistent performers in 2024, insiders say Singleton feels “sidelined” during key planning discussions and walk-throughs.

“He’s not a diva,” one teammate shared anonymously. “But Alex leads by example. And when that leadership feels overlooked? You’re going to hear about it.”

The turning point reportedly came after a tense team meeting last week, where Singleton openly questioned the coaching direction regarding defensive rotations. While his comments were described as “passionate, not disrespectful,” it’s clear there’s a disconnect between player expectations and coaching decisions.

One staffer put it bluntly:

“There’s respect on both sides, but there’s also ego — and right now, it’s clashing.”

Head coach Sean Payton downplayed the dust-up when asked by reporters, saying, “Every locker room has disagreements. Alex wants to win — we all do.”

Still, the situation raises questions about cohesion in a defense trying to reclaim dominance in the AFC West. If Singleton and the coaching staff can’t find common ground soon, Denver may find itself battling more than just opposing offenses this season.
