Will Willow SAY “I DO” or WALK AWAY at the Altar?

Will Willow Marry Drew? Should Nelle Return? GH

Well, dear readers, a change is on the way. This will be my final Friday General Hospital Soapbox. But fear not, I’m not going anywhere, and neither is the spirit of this opinion-driven column. Soaps.com will be shifting our format to more on-the-fly stories dropped in our news section, allowing for quicker reactions to major soap events as they happen. So you won’t have to wait until Friday for my response to, say, Drew finally getting shot, which many viewers are eagerly anticipating! On that note, let’s dive in one last time and talk about the complete nutter that is Willow!

Willow’s Completely Cracked Up

Willow learning the truth about Nina and Drew’s torrid office fling went about as well as anyone probably could have guessed. Predictably, Willow blamed Nina for costing her her marriage and her children. Funny, I recall Willow, many times over, blasting Nina for never taking responsibility for her own actions and blaming everyone else, namely, Carly!

Willow is furious with Nina GH

Yes, Nina should have confessed a long time ago, but Willow needs to take responsibility for her actions. She and she alone blew up her life for Drew. Now, with no way out of the mess she got herself into, she’s apparently going through with the wedding… because she thinks it’s the only way she’ll get her kids back? Wake up, Wacky Willow, it’s never going to happen. Especially when the truth comes out that she was the one tormenting Sasha and Daisy, and that Drew is blackmailing Portia to commit medical fraud.

Willow is stalking Daisy GH

Both Cynthia Watros and Katelyn MacMullen delivered powerful performances this week, and Willow said some truly hateful things to her mother about Madeline and Nelle, implying that Nina had no maternal qualities. Hey Willow, Harmony was no saint, you were raised in a cult, and you used an infant for your twisted plans!

Should Willow actually marry Drew, heck, even if she doesn’t or someone else stops the wedding, there is only one thing coming down the line for Willow: a padded cell in Ferncliff! Willow needs serious help, and frankly, Drew should count his lucky stars if the wedding doesn’t happen, because he’s basically marrying Nelle 2.0 at this point.

Speaking of Nelle, whom Willow mentioned envying, given she never knew Nina was her mother, now is the perfect time to bring the villainess back to haunt her twin sister! She clearly had a complete break with reality at the end of Friday’s episode.

Other Storyline Ponderings

So we now know that the woman who resembles Britt is actually Britt, and she’s somehow involved in whatever Dalton’s up to. That last part really didn’t come as a shock, as many guessed that the minute we knew she’d be returning.

Britt is in Croatia GH

Lulu’s added Obrecht to the growing list of people who aren’t allowed to talk to Rocco about Britt. As his mother, she has that right, given that he’s still a minor. However, viewers have been quick to note that Lulu has no problem telling everyone what they can and can’t talk to her son about but has no problems speaking with Gio, whom she’s been told to stay away from. Msbert commented in recaps that Lulu’s helicopter parenting is pushing Rocco right out the door. It sure is, and somehow, Lulu will blame Brook Lynn when it happens!

Marco and Lucas in bed GH

Lulu’s getting some company on the ever-growing list of characters viewers are annoyed with. Lucas is getting on fans’ last nerves with his sudden devotion to Marco over his family. MzZee commented in our recaps that “he’s riding hard for Marco, all over town, to anyone that will listen, and he just met the man… Dude, chill.” After Friday’s episode and Marco teaming up with his dad to become a mini-mobster, well, the writers have struck again and seemingly doomed another couple before they get off the ground.

MArtin is sorry GH

Martin finding a mysterious letter addressed to Monica, noting how she had been ill for a long time, was probably the most intriguing part of the week for me. Many are already speculating that Erika Slezak will be playing Monica’s long-lost sister, and this could mark the beginning of Monica’s death storyline. Of course, many viewers also don’t want Slezak playing anyone but Victoria Lord when she arrives in Port Charles.

Obrecht teaches James GH

Finally, while some readers commented that they found Obrecht teaching James to throw hatchets a bit disturbing, given his age, I got a good laugh at it because it was so characteristic of Liesl. And Spinelli finding it unsettling that James was such a natural was hilarious. James is going to be big trouble when he hits his teens!
