At the beach, Joss and Emma continue to bond, and Emma admits Joss is not the girl she remembers. Joss explains that Dex’s death really changed her and has made her want to do something that matters, which is why she’s working so hard in Dalton’s class. Emma swears Joss to secrecy and tells Joss that she’s on a mission. Dalton is not the guy she thinks he is, so don’t be charmed by that Aussie accent.
Emma explains the real reason she was expelled from Berkeley. She broke into Dalton’s lab there to prove he was testing on animals, not just rats, but dogs and other animals. She was forced to sign an NDA to avoid jail, so she’s determined to get this research assistant job. Whatever Dalton is doing is heinous, and she has to expose it and stop him.
Joss gets a text from Vaughn and tells Emma she is sorry, but she has to go. Joss says, for what it’s worth, if Dalton is doing anything illegal, he will be stopped. Emma tells Joss it was surprisingly great talking to her tonight.
Joss Fills Brennan In
At the WSB office, Vaughn reports to Brennan that Joss saw Dalton at The Savoy with Anna of all people. Vaughn says it’s possible they weren’t talking about anything of interest, but Brennan doesn’t believe in coincidences. Vaughn also reveals Joss saw Dalton enter a secure lab at GH with a briefcase, and he left without it. Brennan says they need to know what’s in that lab, so how close is Joss to making that happen? Vaughn explains Joss’ plan to ruin Emma’s work, and how they put it in motion tonight.
Joss soon arrives at Brennan’s office, and Vaughn is there, but Brennan has stepped out. Vaughn says he updated Brennan on tonight, and Joss informs him that Emma knows a lot more than they thought she did.
Brennan returns and learns what Emma suspects Dalton is up to. He says Anna cannot know what is happening, as she’ll just get in their way. Joss asks when she gets the research position, what does Brennan want her to do?
Brennan says Dalton is working on a piece of tech with far-reaching complications, and many people are interested in what he’s developing. The WSB wants it and wants Dalton to finish his research. That is her job. He orders Joss to finish this op and to inform him if she sees Anna talking to Dalton again.
Kristina Wants to Move Forward
Kristina asks why Ava and Ric are in her mother’s home. Ric claims his near-death experience has made him take a new look at life, and he and Alexis are working to better their relationship for Molly’s sake. Ric says he’s said all he has to, and he and Ava should get going. Kristina tells Ric and Ava that she has been thinking a lot lately as well. She has to let go of her anger towards both of them. She tells Ric she has to stop hating him for getting Ava acquitted and for blaming Ava for her fall. She wants to make peace and move on. Ava is shocked and says her uncle’s accident has turned into a gift, one that keeps on giving.
Ava and Ric leave, and Molly returns home. She is surprised to see Kristina here. Alexis lets them know Scout is upstairs and she’d like them to put their anger aside for Sam’s daughter, who so far doesn’t know what is happening with her father. Molly comments on how crazy Drew was in that video, and maybe someone should have him committed. Alexis wishes she could make them understand why she did what she did. Kristina explains she came here tonight to try and move forward, as they’ve lost too much. She can’t lose her mom, and she loves her, but what she did was not okay.
Alexis claims she was concerned that something was off and Kristina wasn’t sharing. She made a mistake, and she’s sorry. Kristina has made her share of mistakes, and Molly suggests they all have breakfast tomorrow for Scout’s sake. Kristina says she’ll be here and heads out. Molly tells her mother it will take time for both her and Kristina to forgive her, and heads upstairs. Alexis looks at the portfolio Ava gave her and fumes.
Laura Checks Up on Rocco
At the hospital, Laura visits Rocco and meets Cody for the first time. Laura thanks him for getting Rocco to the hospital and keeping him company while his parents stepped out. Rocco wakes up and sees his grandmother. Cody leaves them to talk, and Laura asks Rocco what happened. He admits he did something stupid.
Rocco says he didn’t go to that party to drink, but he ended up playing a drinking game with some guys. He lost track of how much he drank. Laura says she knows what it’s like to be young and make mistakes. Rocco swears he’ll never drink again. Laura laughs that they all make that promise after their first hangover, and she’d be happy if he waits until he’s 21 to drink again.
Lois Tears Into Dante
Elsewhere, Lois yells at Dante that he doesn’t know who Gio really is. Dante says he has watched Gio grow up since he was a baby, so he knows who he is. Lulu spies on the altercation from a distance, as Dante continues to yell how Gio’s carelessness could have cost Rocco his life. Gio again insists he didn’t know Danny and Rocco were at the party and drinking. Dante continues to yell at Lois that she and Gloria coddled Gio his whole life, and this is the result. Gio doesn’t know how to be responsible. Dante swears to Gio that if he gave booze to Rocco, then he’ll make sure he faces charges. Lois yells that he never gave Rocco alcohol, and if he’s going to play Mr. Detective, maybe find out the facts first.
Lulu finally intervenes and tells Dante to stop, and that Rocco will be okay. Dante yells only because they got lucky, and his only son could have died tonight. Lois yells at Dante that he’s way out of line, but Gio says Dante is right. This is on him, and Gio is sorry. The boy runs off, and Dante tells Lois to chase after him and make it better for him, just like she has for his entire life. Lois yells that at least Gio was there trying to help Rocco and asks Dante where he was when his son needed him.
Lois says Dante should be thankful that Gio was there. Most college kids would have left a drunk kid on the beach to sleep it off, but not Gio. She tells Dante that he has such a good heart, and shame on him for not recognizing the same good heart in Gio. Lois storms off.
Dante notes Lulu’s been very quiet and asks if she thinks he’s being too hard on Gio. Lulu knows he’s terrified, so is she, but he went too far. Dante rants to Lulu that Gio never learned responsibility thanks to Lois and Gloria. She says he is a classical musician who lost his mother at a young age and had to cope, which doesn’t sound like someone who isn’t disciplined or is irresponsible. Dante continues his rant about how Lois and Gloria always pampered and protected him, more so than any of the other kids. Lulu asks if Brook Lynn protected him, too? Dante tells her Brook Lynn was a softy with all the younger kids, not just Gio.
Elsewhere. Lois calls her mom about what happened tonight, and how Dante lashed out at his own son. She says, “If Dante only knew…”
Dante and Lulu check on Rocco, who is still talking with Laura. Rocco apologizes to them for scaring them, and Dante says they know. Laura has to head out, so Lulu walks her out. Rooco tells his dad he knows what he did was stupid, and he has every right to be mad at him. Dante says he’s angry, but he’s glad he’s okay, and his love for him will always be stronger than any anger he might have. He promises he’ll never turn his back on him, as he’s his son. Outside, Lulu watches Dante with Rocco and makes a voice memo to remind herself to look into where Lois was when Gio was born.
Gio heads back to the beach and finds Emma still hanging out. He confesses what happened tonight with Rocco, and that Dante believes he gave Rocco the booze and is furious with him. He always thought he and Dante got along, but now he sees that Dante doesn’t respect him at all.
Drinks at The Brown Dog Bar
At the Brown Dog bar, Brook Lynn and Chase drink after a game of pool. Chase says once their baby comes, these date nights will likely be a thing of the past because they’ll be so tired from diaper changes and late-night feedings. Brook Lynn is looking forward to that.
Brook Lynn admits to Chace that she told Tracy about giving up her baby and why she did so, and Tracy was really supportive. However, she doesn’t tell her that Dante is the father, as she doesn’t want to burden her with the truth like she did to him.
Chase doesn’t feel burdened by what he knows. He admits he tried to convince Dante that Lulu’s been out of line, but it’s hard to get it through to Dante without telling him what he knows. However, who she tells about her child is her choice. They both express how lucky they are to have each other.
Cody interrupts and tells them he thought they should know that Rocco’s in the hospital. Brook Lynn steps out to call her mom, but she’s not answering. She returns and asks Cody if he wants to join them, but he doesn’t want to be a third wheel.
Ava and Ric arrive and grab a table. Ava starts a tab on her brand-new, shiny credit card.
Cody hits the bar and starts a tab of his own. The bartender accidentally gives him Ava’s card back, and he notes it’s not his. However, it’s not like any card Cody’s ever seen, noting how thick and heavy it is. The bartender says they don’t get many of them around here and goes to return it to Ava.
Lois arrives, sits with Chase and Brook Lynn, and tells them how Dante lashed out and blamed Gio for what happened to Rocco. She’s furious over how Dante reacted. Brook Lynn says Gio and Dante will get over this, and asks why this upsets her so much?
On the next General Hospital, Dante confronts Jason and blames him more than he blames Danny. Portia calls someone to alert them to put on the news. At the hospital, Liz asks Isaiah where he’s been hiding. At the Metro Court, Nina vents to Curtis as to what it will take to get rid of Drew. Drew tells Tracy he will make sure whoever drugged him will be punished. Back at the hospital, Lucas asks someone, “What the hell just happened?”
