Maya Jama shared a shocking insight into some of the wild private messages she receives from superfans on social media as she prepares for Love Island's highly-anticipated return
The new series of Love Island is about to begin, but 29 year old presenter Maya Jama has taken the opportunity to give fans a sneak peek into some of the wild messages she receives online. The host took to her Instagram Story on Thursday 30 May to unveil the X-rated confession one of her followers shared with her.
Maya, who is loved up with beau Stormzy, shared a screenshot of messages she had received from a superfan. In one message, the fan had said she looked 'amazing' in her latest post but then, the messages took an X-rated turn.
The fan confessed: "Last night I thought about you whilst I f***** by boyfriend. Should I be concerned." Maya did not reply to the message but instead shared it to her Story for her 3.1 million followers to see as she appeared to see the funny side to the explicit revelation.
Maya wrote: "An insight to my dms. Some say f me... some think about it," adding a laughing-crying face.
Maya, who is currently gearing up for the latest series of Love Island which starts next week, wore a tiny crop top and some low-rise jeans in her dressing room in the stunning snap that the fan was referring to.
The new series of Love Island launches on Monday 3 June at 9pm across all ITV channels and will continue on ITV2 for the rest of the series. Aftersun will also return to screens every Sunday and will be hosted by Maya alongside fellow celeb panellists Sam Thompson, Indiyah Polack, Amy Hart, Chris Taylor and Jordan Stephens.
Having hosted four seasons in a year, it's no surprise that it was recently revealed that Maya wants to have more of a say in the show. She even hinted that she would like to be a producer as well as a presenter.

Already taking in the scenery at the villa in Majorca, Maya said to The Sun: “In my mind I am like: what do you do next after TV? I’ll work it out. I feel like I need to set new goals because I have been so fortunate that all my childhood goals have been achieved now before I am thirty. Do I have an input [now]? No, because if I did I would get producer credits.”
“If I could I would but that’s not my job title… yet. I am a fan of the show and have grown up on reality TV so maybe one day, never say never. I am 30 this year and that is another milestone, but focus on your job first then plan the party after!”
Ahead of Love Island’s launch, the villa has undergone a transformation in preparation from the new arrivals. A new 'vibe retreat' has been added for those couples lucky enough to spend a night away from their co-stars.
