Why the evidence says otherwise.
Luke and Lucky.
This week on General Hospital, Lucky proposed to Elizabeth, she said no, and Lucky admitted he didn’t really want to stay in town anyway, so he is out of there — again. Lucky has accepted that he is too much of a wanderer, and that he can never settle down, not even for the woman he’s loved for decades, or their sons. He’s just like his dad, Luke, that way. Except here’s why we’re not buying it — about either of them.
Father Figure
Some thirty years after marrying the love of his life, Luke (Anthony Geary) announced that he was never happy being a husband or a father, and that he resented Laura (Genie Francis) for tying him down and forcing him to be someone he’s not.
Luke can keep saying it and saying it and saying it. But we don’t believe it. Because we saw otherwise. We saw the man who was ecstatic both times Laura told him she was pregnant. We saw a couple who ran a diner in Canada and danced together once the customers left, because they were still so much in love and happy.
We saw a Luke who was delighted to finally, safely return to Port Charles so he could be closer to his beloved sister and his aunt, and the place he considered home. Until one day, we were told we’d never seen any of that at all.
Second Generation
The same goes for Lucky (Jonathan Jackson). He loved Elizabeth (Rebecca Hearbst) so much, he didn’t hesitate to raise her son, Cameron, as his own.
He actually went looking for a presumed dead Jake so that he could bring “our son” home to Elizabeth. And Aiden is his biological child. Lucky was thrilled when this was confirmed.
He and Elizabeth lived as a happy family for years, and we never saw any sign of his dissatisfaction. So, yeah, Lucky is just like Luke. In that they’re both lying.
