Maple Leafs' Craig Berube Raises Eyebrows With William Nylander Comments

The Toronto Maple Leafs have found a lot of success this postseason, with multiple players stepping up. One of those guys has been William Nylander, who has scored six goals for Toronto in the postseason so far.

Nylander has been electric for the Maple Leafs, and he is a major reason why Toronto has a 2-0 series lead over the Florida Panthers right now. The forward ranks third in goals scored around the NHL for the playoffs, and he has been on a massive roll of late.

While he was great against the Panthers in the second game, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube had some fascinating comments about the Toronto forward. Berube seemed to be joking, but these comments are still interesting coming from the head coach.

“He just plays. And he doesn't want me to talk to him,” Berube chuckled. “Just leave him alone. I probably should just leave him alone.”

Berube is new to the Maple Leafs, agreeing to take over the team this past offseason. But his experience with the Toronto star has been nothing short of incredible, and the two are helping the team dream of a potential Stanley Cup.

"Nothing gets to him,” Berube said. “He doesn't feel pressure. And I could be wrong, but this is what I see. There's no too big a stage for this guy. He thrives on this stuff, in my opinion, and he looks forward to it, and he wants to be in all those critical situations. When he smells something, he's there.

The Maple Leafs took care of business at home against the Panthers, but now they will be heading on the road for Games 3 and 4. Game 3 will kick off tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
