The forward took a hit late in the second period and went awkwardly into the boards.
Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten didn't return to the ice after taking a hit in the second period of Game 2 against the Montreal Canadiens' prospects.
The 20-year-old went for the loose puck in the corner but appeared to be pushed from behind by Canadiens prospect David Reinbacher. According to Todd Crocker, who commentated the game, Minten favored his left foot as he exited the ice.
At the beginning of the third period of the game on Sunday, Crocker said that Minten wouldn't return due to precautionary reasons. With this only being a prospects game, and Maple Leafs training camp approaching, there's likely no rush for Minten to get back into the game.
"Other than that hopefully he'll be ok," Toronto Marlies head coach John Gruden said of Minten after the team's 5-4 win. "He'll be evaluated when we get back to Toronto."
The forward was on a line with Easton Cowan and Roni Hirvonen in Game 2 against Montreal's prospects. Minten had a goal and an assist in Saturday's game, and one assist before leaving Sunday's game.
After making the Maple Leafs last year, Minten is trying to do the same ahead of this season. If the forward doesn't make the NHL squad out of training camp, he will begin the season in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies.
