"It's day-to-day right now," Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube said after Toronto's 5-1 loss to Florida. "We'll have to see tomorrow how he is, but wasn't able to continue to play tonight."

The forward dealt with a couple of collisions, a broken skate blade, and blocked a Chris Tanev point shot off the knee before leaving the game. His last shift ended with 4:06 left in the second period.

McMann becomes the eighth forward to exit the lineup over the last couple of weeks. Toronto is without Auston Matthews, Matthew Knies, Max Domi, David Kampf, Max Pacioretty, Calle Jarnkrok, who are all injured, and Ryan Reaves, who's serving a five-game suspension.

"It's frustrating," Berube added on the amount of injuries as of late, "but hopefully we get some guys coming back here next game."

Grebenkin got the bump up to McMann's wing on the Maple Leafs' top line alongside John Tavares and Mitch Marner. 

He initially registered his first NHL point on Marner's power play goal in the second period, however, it has since been changed to an unassisted tally.

McMann has scored six goals and one assist for seven points through the first 20 games of the season. He's averaged 14:12 of ice time under Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, the most McMann has averaged through his NHL career.

The forward signed a two-year, $2.7 million contract extension with Toronto on Mar. 13. In 86 games with the club, McMann has 21 goals and 11 assists for 32 points.

McMann, an undrafted forward out of Colgate University, signed a two-year AHL deal with the Marlies on April 2, 2020, and spent two seasons in the American Hockey League before signing his first NHL deal on April 29, 2022.
