Mauricio Umansky Files for Conservatorship of Dad; Accuses His Girlfriend of Trying to ‘Isolate Him’

As Mauricio Umansky navigates his separation and likely eventual divorce from Kyle Richards, he’s also handling a difficult situation with his dad which could end up in a conservatorship.

Recent court documents revealed that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Buying Beverly Hills star and his sister, Sharon Umansky Benton, filed to gain conservatorship over their dad, Eduardo Umansky.

Mau and Sharon allege that Eduardo’s longtime girlfriend is taking advantage of him both emotionally and financially. They requested that 81-year-old Eduardo be placed under conservatorship, with them appointed as his co-conservators.

Documents obtained by In Touch reveal Eduardo makes about $200,000 annually. Mau and Sharon say that Eduardo’s unnamed girlfriend of two decades (not Leslie Bega) has been gold-digging and alienating him.

The filing read, “Over the course of the past few months, [Eduardo’s] girlfriend has become more controlling limiting and regulating who [Eduardo] can visit with. She has begun to isolate him and is trying to get married even though they have been together for twenty years and never decided that they wanted to marry.”

They say she’s also emotionally abusive. “On one occasion, [Mauricio and Sharon] brought their father out to lunch. When his girlfriend learned what happened, she became enraged, verbally and emotionally abusing [Eduardo].”

Allegedly, she’s been stockpiling his money. “[Eduardo] is unable to resist undue influence and fraud and has been taken advantage of by his girlfriend. Over the court of the past eighteen months, [Eduardo] and [Mauricio and Sharon] have discovered that she has taken, secreted and appropriated more than $260,000 from [Eduardo] through undue influence, whether physical or emotional and/or fraud.”

“During this time, [Eduardo] has written more than $260,000 worth of checks to his girlfriend for no reason other than she wanted it. In addition to those checks, there are an additional nearly $100,000 in expenses that have not [been] explained.”

Mau and Sharon say that Eduardo isn’t developmentally disabled. He signed a conservatorship consent form and plans to attend court to support his children’s wishes. The hearing is scheduled for later this month.

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to premiere later this year. The now-cancelled Buying Beverly Hills streams on Netflix.
