After Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13, everything fell apart between Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice. Arguably, that schism created the most dangerous and chaotic season of Housewives ever, a season that was not well received by fans.
As it turns out, splitting the cast in half doesn’t make for great filming. But how did we get here? Well, it’s a layered situation. However, most fingers would point to Luis Ruelas, Teresa’s husband. Luis did not make a good impression on fans, Melissa, or Joe Gorga.
Indeed, Luis seems to encourage Teresa’s state of vitriol toward her estranged family. Even though the Gorgas certainly have some blame to share, some can’t help but wonder if the family could make amends if it weren’t for Luis.
Melissa recently appeared on the August 22 episode of In the Twot Seat. While there, Teddi Mellencamp asked if the Gorga family might make up with Teresa if Luis was out of the picture. “Louie is the problem, or do you think she’s the problem?” Teddi asked. Melissa admitted, “I think there was a lot of problems before him as well.”
She also admitted that the conflict was “two-sided. I’m not saying I’m an angel. But I think that I’ve … taken a lot, I’ve forgiven a lot, I’ve moved forward with a lot. I’ll just say it like that. And I got to the point that when you’re now calling my husband over for a chat without me, and you’re sitting there with your new like, fiancé, and you’re telling him that I’m some bad wife and basically lying to him about cheating rumors … I have checked out of the building.”
Melissa said that Joe felt the same after that day. “He actually couldn’t believe that that’s why he got called over to the house.” She also felt that she should’ve been a participant in that conversation, or “invited” at the very least. Melissa further asserted she’d have to be crazy to “keep coming back for more.”
